Alex Kingston’s Biography and PicturesAlex Kingston is an English actress, who earned much prominence for the portrayal of Dr. Elizabeth Corday in the TV series called, ER. Kingston was born on March 11, 1963 in Epson, Surrey, England. She was baptized with the real name of Alexandra Elizabeth ‘Alex’ Kingston. Her father was a butcher while her mother is German. She is he niece of the actor Walter Renneisen, who is the younger brother of her mother. One of her inspiration for her successful acting career was her teacher in the exclusive school of Rosebery School for Girls. Because of her passion on acting, Kingston auditioned for one of the productions of the Surrey County Youth Theatre entitled, Tom Jones, where she portrayed the role of Mrs. Fitzpatrick. She then finished her three-year series at the well-known drama school of Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She subsequently joined the ensemble of the Royal Shakespeare Company. On the other hand, Kingston has already appeared in several British TV dramas, which also includes the Grange Hill, Crocodile Shoes and The Fortunes and Misfortunes of Moll Flanders. She was also featured in the drama series of The Knock and has also appeared as a guest star in the TV series of The Bill.

Moreover, Kingston was also included in the ensemble of the 1989 romantic crime film called, The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover, where she portrayed the role of Adela. She then appeared in one of the episodes of the TV series of Covington Cross. On the following year, Kingston had a role in the TV film called, Foreign Affairs as well as an appearance in the series of Soldier Soldier, where she portrayed the role of Ursula Krohling. On the other hand, Kingston tied the knot with the English actor, Ralph Fiennes, but they separated in year 1997. On the same year, Kingston earned wide recognition after being included in the ensemble of the medical drama series called, ER, where she portrayed the role of Elizabeth Corday, best describes as a surgeon from England. However, Kingston left the show after only seven seasons. Nevertheless, Kingston returned on the final season of the show. On the following year, Kingston married her second husband, Florian Haertel, a freelance journalist. The couple had a daughter named Salome Violetta Haertel, who was born on March 2001.

She then starred together with Clive Owen and Kate Hardle in the 1998 film entitled, Croupier. She was also included in the ensemble of the Bristish crime film of Essex Boys, where she collaborated with the film director Terry Winsor and with the stars of Sean Bean, Tom Wilkinson and Charlie Creed-Miles as well as Holly Davidson. In the film, Kingston portrayed the role of Lisa Locke. In year 2005, Kingston appeared as a guest star in the TV series called, Without a Trace, for their episode titled ‘Viuda Ngra’, where she portrayed the role of Lucy Costin. On the following year, she made a confirmation that she turned down the role of Lynette Scavo in the ABC’s TV series of Desperate Housewives. In year 2008, Kingston appeared as a guest star in one of the episodes of the TV series called, Doctor Who. On the following year, she appeared as Miranda Pond in two of the episodes of the TV series of Law & order: Special Victims Unit, where she reunited with her ER co-star, Mariska Hargitay. In addition, in year 2011, Kingston was included in the cats if the supernatural drama series entitled, Marchlands, where she portrayed the role of Helen Maynard. However, the show ended on March of the same year. On the other hand, Kingston currently stars in Friedrich Schiller’s Luise Miller, hold at Donmar Warehouse in London.
