Amanda Seyfried is an American actress, singer-songwriter and a model during her childhood days. She was born on December 3, 1985 in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. She graduated in William Allen High School in 2003.
Seyfried started as a model, she worked in various clothing companies such as limited Too and Leighton Meester. Her very first acting role was in a drama television series entitled “Guiding Light”. In year 2000, she portrayed the character Lucy Montgomery in “As the World Turns”. In year 2003, she tried to audition to play the role of Regina George in the movie Mean Girls. However, the role was turned to Rachel McAdams. She was then assigned to play the role of Regina’s plastic friend named Karen Smith. The movie was a blockbuster hit earning $129 million.
Seyfried admitted that she experiences anxiety and panic attacks. Among her rumored relationships were with Alexander Skarsgard and Dominic Cooper.
In year 2005, Seyfried played the lead role of Samantha in one of the parts of the film “Nine Lives”. She won an award, together with other female leads, as a Best Actress in Locarno international Film Festival. She was also active in guest appearances in television series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
Big Love, a highly acclaimed drama television series, became the biggest break of Seyfried as she plays the role of Sarah Henrickson in which her family is in a polygamous situation. It was first seen in the United States on March 12, 2006.
She played the role of Zoe in a horror drama film “Solstice” in year 2008. She was able to work with the veteran actress Meryl Streep in the film “Mamma Mia!’ which was a romantic comedy film. Seyfried got her first leading role in this film. It became the fifth highest grossing film in that year.
In March 2008, she played Anita Lesnicki who was the best friend of the title role portrayed by Megan Fox. The film was categorized as a comedy horror film; it was released on September 18, 2009. At the same year, she was cast in an independent film as Paige Oppenheimer. It was officially shown on April 25, 2010 in US Theatres.
Seyfried was able to get the role of Chloe Sweeney in an erotic thriller film that was released in March 26, 2010. Her role in the film made her more famous and gets more challenging roles. She was able to star in a romantic-comedy film “Letters to Juliet” which was based in the book of Lise and Ceil Friedman. She received an award as the “Showest Breakthrough Female Star of the Year”.
Seyfried was also included in Forbes’ “The 17 Stars to Watch” lists. In March 11, 2011, she played the lead role of Valerie in “Red Riding Hood”.
She was able to be listed in various categories such as the list of “The “The Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Famous Faces From Around the World” where she ranked #0 in year 2010. “Glamour” magazine recognized Seyfried as “The Most Down-to-Earth” in their April 2010 issue.
And just this year 2011, Seyfried was able to got the first spot in People’s “25 Beauties and (and Hotties) at 25”.
