The 36-year-old American actress and singer, was born on August 20, 1974 in Vicenza, Italy, to Kathryn and Richard Adams. Adams, who was baptized with the real name of Amy Lou Adams, was the fourth of seven children. She has four brothers and two sisters. Her father who a serviceman, was relocate at the Caserma Ederle at the time of her birth and her family settled in Castle Rock, Colorado, Adams was raised as a Mormon. She attended the Douglas County High School, where she became one of the members of the school’s choir and was also trained as an apprentice at a local company carrying the dream to be a ballerina. At the young age of 18, Adams supported herself by being a greeter in a Gap store, while she was still performing in Community Theater.
Amy Adams started her professional work as a dancer in the Boulder’s Dinner Theater as well in the Country Dinner Playhouse, where she was noticed by a Minneapolis dinner theater director named, Michael Brindish in year 1995. She then moved to Chanhassen, Minnesota, where she worked at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres for three years. She then auditioned for a spot in the 1999 comedy film of Drop Dead Gorgeous. Also, in year 1999, she relocated to Los Angeles, California.
In year 2004, she appeared in the The Last Ruin as well as voicing for some of the characters in the animated series called, King of the Hill. She was also included in the casts of the TV series of Dr. Vegas, where she portrayed the role of Alice Doherty. However, Adams has been dropped out of the show after having a contract argument. Before she left the show of Dr. Vegas, she received the script for the independent film of Junebag and auditioned for the role of Ashley Johnsten. She subsequently appeared together with Debra Messing and Dermot Mulroney on the romantic comedy film of The Wedding Date. After Junebag has been released in theaters, she received critical accolades for her portrayal on the said film. Also, she received various awards for the Best Supporting Actress, which also includes the National Society of the Film Critics award as well as the Independent Spirit Award. She also earned nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Academy Award.
In year 2007, Amy Adams starred in the fantasy musical film of Enchanter, which also includes the stars of Patrick Dempsey and James Marsden. The Film is a box office success, earning a total amount of $340 Million. On the following year, Adams starred in the Adaptation film of the play of Patrick Stanley called, Doubt, where she portrayed the role of the young Sister James. The film also includes Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman and Viola Davis. On the other hand, Amy Adams is set to appear in the upcoming Daughter of the Queen Sheba and in the adaptation of the book of The Ten Best Days of My Life. She was also included in the casts of the upcoming film of The Muppets. She is also set to appear in the upcoming film of The Master.
