Amy Smart is an American actress and Fashion model, who was born on March 26, 1976 in Topanga, California, to Judy and John Smart, a museum worker and a salesman. She studied ballet for ten years and attended the acting classes at the young age of 16. In addition, Smart started her career as a fashion model, working in Italy, France and Mexico as well in Tahiti.
On the other hand, her first film role landed, when she appeared in the Martin Kunert’s directorial film entitled, Campfire Tales. She then portrayed the role of Queenie in the 1986 adaptation of John Updike’s short story called, A&P. Smart also had a role in the science fiction film of Starship Troopers in year 1997, where she portrayed the role of Pilot Cadet/ Lt. Lumbreiser. She then starred in then starred in the mini-series of The 70s, where she portrayed the role of a young woman from Ohio.
In year 1999, she portrayed the role of the girlfriend of the well known football player, which has been portrayed by James Van Der Beek , in the drama sport film pf Varsity Blues. On the other hand, Amy Smart also appeared in the drama series of Felicity, where she portrayed the role of the girlfriend of Scott Foley’s role. She subsequently appeared in various films such as the Road Trip in year 2000 and The Butterfly Effect in year 2004. In year 2002, she landed in the 27th spot in the Suff magazine’s 100 Sexiest Women in the World. In year 2004, she was also nominated for the Best Kiss at the MTV Movie Awards for her portrayal in the comedy film of Starsky & Hutch.
On the following year, Amy Smart starred together with Ryan Reynolds in the romantic comedy film of Just Friends. She also had a small role in the American TV series of Scrubs, where she portrayed the role of Jamie Moyer or also known as Tasty Coma Wife. In year 2005, May Smart portrayed the role of Sarah in the Birtish Independent film entitled, The Best Man, which also includes the star of Seth Green.
On the other hand, Smart appeared in the 2008 action film of Crank, where she portrayed the role of the girlfriend of the character that has being portrayed by Jason Statham. She then reprised her role on the film’s sequel called, Crank: High Voltage, which has been released in year 2009. Smart was one of the regular cast in the short-lived TV series of CBS called, Smith. In addition, she voiced for some of the roles in the animated series of Robot Chicken, which was created by Seth Green.
In year 2006, Smart portrayed the role of Joy in the film called, Peaceful Warrior, which also starred Scott Mechlowicz and Mick Nolte. Samart also starred as Melissa in the independent film of Seventh Moon. In her personal life, Smart was a spokesperson for the non profit organization of Heal the Bay. Smart has also worked with the Humane Society as well as the Environmental Media Association. In addition, on April 21, 2011, Smart became engaged with Carter Oosterhouse.
