The 27-year-old American-British actor was born in August 20, 1983 in Los Angeles, California, to a British Mother and an American father. When he was at the young age of three, Garfield together with his family relocated to the United Kingdom. Garfield was born as a Jewish and was raised in a middle class. His parents manages a small design business, he has a brother who is a doctor.  In addition, Andrew Garfield was raised in Surrey, England. During his early years, Garfield became a gymnast in the London Freemen’s School, which is near in the Ashtead, before he was trained in the Central School of Speech and Drama, where he graduated in year 2004.

Garfield started to join the acting classes in the Guidford, when he was at the young age of fifteen and also joined a youth theater production of Bugsy Malone. Also, he joined a small youth theater workshop group in Epsom and then he started working mostly as a stage actor. In year 2004, he was garnered a MEN Theater Award for his acting job in Kes at the Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theater, where he also portrayed the role of Rome on the same year. He also earned an award for the outstanding newcomer at the Evening Standard Theater Award in year 2006.

Andrew Garfield debuted in the British TV in year 2005, when he was included in the casts of the Channel 4 drama series called, Sugar Rush. In October 2006, Garfield was crowned as one of the Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch. Also, in year 2007, he made an appearance in the drama of Lions and Lambs, where he portrayed the role of an American student.  He then appeared in the drama of Channel for entitled, Boy A, where he was garnered the 2008 BAFTA award for the category of the Best Actor. On the same year, he made a supporting role in the film called, The Other Boleyn Girl. He was also announced as one of the shooting stars at the Berlin International Film Festival.

Garfield graced the December 2009 issue of Vogue’s Magazine, posing together with Lily Cole, in a captures retelling of the renowned Hansel and Gretel. On the same year, he earned a small role in the film of Terry Gillian entitled, The Imaginarium of Doctor Pamassus as well in the Red Riding trilogy film. In year 2010, Andrew Garfield starred in the British film of never Let Me Go, which is initially based on the book of Japanese author named Kazuo Ishiguro. He also portrayed one of the leading roles on the directorial film of David Fincher entitled, Social Network, which also includes the star of Brenda Song and Justin Timberlake as well as Jesse Eisenberg. The film revolves around the life of the founders of the well known social networking site called, Facebook. Garfield was picked to portray the role of Spider-Man, together with Emma Stone. The film is set to hit the big screen in July 3, 2012.
