Benjamin Thomas Barnes also known as Ben Barnes was born on August 20, 1981. He was an English actor who is most notable on his portrayal of Caspian X in the box office hit film of Chronicle of Narnia and Prince Caspian as well in film called, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. He was born in London who has a young brother named, Jack. He was the son of Tricia and Thomas Barnes who was a therapist and a professor of psychiatry.

Ben Barnes studies at an Independent school: King’s College School in Wimbledon in West London, where he became contemporary of the actors, Khalid Abdalla and Tom Basden. On the other hand, Barnes attended the Kingston University to study Drama and English Literature

His career started when he still in Musical Theater and as a teenager, Barnes spent dedicate a few years as one of the members of the National Youth Music Theater. At the very young age of 15, Barnes made his first ever professional job as a drummer in the adaptation of West End musical called, Bugsy Malone.

In year 2006, he began his work in front of the camera when he was included as the guest-star in the UK series of Doctors. On the same year, he joined the cast of the West End Production of The History Boys, where he portrayed the role of Dakin, who was said to be a sexually provocative man. The role was initially played by Dominic Cooper on both on stage and in film of the same title.

It was announced on February 2997 that Ben Barnes is set to play the role of Caspian in the adaptation film of Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, which was directed by Andrew Adamson. Barnes has already read the book version of the film when he was just a child. He became one of the casts in two-and-a-half weeks after their meeting with the filmmakers. Barnes spent two months in New Zealand for horse riding and his stunt training as a preparation for the shooting. He said that his Mediterranean accent in the film was said to be inspired in part by Mandy Painkin’s performance in The Princess Bride.

In Spring of year 2008, Barnes completed his filming for the role of Whittaker in the romantic comedy film of Noel Cowards entitled, Easy Virtue, alongside the American actress, Jessica Biel. The film which has been written and directed by the Stephan Elliot has debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival on September of the same year.

On the other hand, Ben Barnes returned to the stage of the West End in London, where he portrayed the role of the World War 1 soldier, Stephen Wraysford in ‘Birdsong’, it was based on the book of Sebastian Faulks. In addition, the play has been directed by Trevor Nunn and was adapted by the writer, Rachel Wagstaff for the West End stage. The play has been opened on September 2010 and was closed on January 15, 2011.
