Beyoncé Knowles, the R&B singer, has given birth to a girl, with her husband Jay-Z, although the supposed name caused some confusion, with the child called either Ivy Blue Carter or Blue Ivy.

Celebrity friends took to Twitter to congratulate the couple on the birth although the couple have issued no official confirmation of the baby’s arrival.  Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Coldplay frontman Chris Martin are close friends with the new parents and Paltrow tweeted to say the baby would be called Blue Ivy Carter.

Blue Ivy Carter was living large from the very start!  With four flat-screen TV’s, a kitchenette and posh furniture it looks like the penthouse in a five-star hotel.  But it is actually the luxury New York hospital room where baby Blue Ivy Carter came into the world, showbiz news website TMZ.com is reporting.  Exclusive images of the suite which is reportedly where Beyoncé gave birth to her first child with rapper Jay Z have just emerged.  Apparently, the newly constructed VIP suite at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York was not built especially for the couple – contrary to previous reports that alleged the couple paid to have the are customized for their use.  The Single Ladies singer just happened to be the first to use the set of rooms intended for high profile guests, according to TMZ.

The posh interior includes a living room area complete with a plush cream, three-piece suite, a coffee table and matching lamp.  It also features a kitchenette with a sink, a microwave and a shelf-full of coffee cups, meaning that the singer and her family could make themselves quick hot snacks.  There is also a single bed especially for the father-to-be or another family member to rest while waiting for the baby to arrive.  Like everything else connected with the birth of the hip-hop princess, this is yet more proof that the birth of Blue was a lavish affair.  Earlier this week she was spirited out of the hospital in a customized Mercedes van.  The trio were said to have been followed by a cavalcade of cars through the darkness.

Beyonce bought the van a couple of months ago, apparently in readiness for the birth, swapping her luxurious Maybach for the souped up motor.  In true superstar style the 30-year-old has pimped her ride to the max and spent a whopping $1 million kitting out the Mercedes vehicle.  It has an engine big enough to power a large lorry – but has the soft drive of a limousine.  The Baby Boy singer requested hand stitched Italian leather seats be installed in cream with chestnut lining.  To make sure she doesn’t ever have to stop at a service station Beyoncé has a full bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet.  No doubt the couple were being transported to their luxurious Tribeca penthouse apartment in New York so they could settle into her new home.

Knowles has had a luxury nursery built which includes a $20,000 cot as its centrepiece. The Posh Tots Carriage Fantasy Crib is made of solid cedar and birch and comes complete with a rear luggage rack which doubles as a changing table.  They also had their own private security force working an area alongside hospital security already at Lenox Hill Hospital.  The extraordinary lengths for privacy led to other parents bitterly complaining that the intense measures had made other new parents miss out on precious moments with their own newborns.

The 29-year-old singer announced that she is pregnant with her first child at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on August 29, 2011. Wearing a purple tuxedo, the singer took the center stage saying, “Now everybody asks me why I’m smiling out from ear to ear” according to MTV.com.  She then unbuttoned her jacket and told the crowd while rubbing her tummy, “Tonight I want you to stand up on your feet; I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me.”  Her husband together with fellow rapper Kanye West were spotted celebrating during the time with happiness painted on their face.  This will be the first child for both renowned R&B singer and rapper husband of three year, Jay-Z.  Beyonce has become of the most recognized stars in the industry after emerging first as a part of the Destiny’s Child group and releasing four solo albums since then including collaborations with husband Jay-Z.  Beyoncé also has appeared on several movies and has created her own fashion label.

According to MTV.com, Lady Gaga took the stage for the opening number of the MTV VMA at the Los Angeles Nokia Theater with her performance of her latest single, “You and I.”  crossed-dress as Joe Calderone, Gaga’s performance produce different opinions, some with dissatisfaction and some with quite a bit nod.

Beyoncé revealed that she would be working for as long as she can work before the day of her labor.   She told CNN, “I am having so much fun, it has been the most fun time now that my pregnancy has been announced. It was really difficult to conceal.”  Coming from the associated press, Beyoncé was quoted, “When you are excited about something, you don’t have to think about your energy, it is natural and comes from adrenaline. It is important that I don’t look at this like an illness. I am not sick. I am the same woman and I have the same passions. Now that I can be proud and excited about it, I’m having so much fun shopping. It’s great.”  Beyonce and Jay-Z has always looked forward to this day, as she was planning to have a baby at 30, and yes, she did, B is turning 30 early next month.  While there were many rumors to Beyonce getting pregnant, today it is safe to say the big news after the latter’s announcement.

In her latest video, “Countdown” the expectant mother shows off her baby bumps and she worked it out.  Currently, the video is facing intrigues and accusations of plagiarism saying that it has been copied from the work of Belgian Choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker for some of the scenes are extremely alike.  The incident was not the first time for the singer, when she was accused of copying the performance of an Italian Pop star for her “Billboard Music Awards performance.”  Meanwhile, the due date of the singer yet known but it is believed that it will happen by the first quarter next year.

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles, or simply Beyoncé, was born on September 4, 1981. She is also the eldest sister of Solange, which is a singer-songwriter and actress like her. Knowle’s interest in music began after participating in a school talent show where she sang John Lennon’s classic hit Imagine and won the competition. At the age of seven, her remarkable talent was immediately spotted by some music press after having been mentioned in the Houston Chronicles as a nominee for the local performing arts award.

At the age of eight, Knowles auditioned for an all-girl group together with her friend Kelly Rowland to perform rapping and dancing. Originally named as Girl’s Tyme, the group was cut down to six members and was brought to Plant Recording Studio to work on their vocals. Girl’s Tyme eventually joined Star Search, which is the biggest talent show on national TV that time. Unfortunately, the group lost in the competition and suffered a major setback afterwards.

In 1993, the group was cut down to four with LeToya Luckett joining the fun. The name Girl’s Tyme, on the other hand, was replaced with Destiny’s Child as derived from a passage in the Book of Isaiah. In late 1997, the group was signed to Columbia Records where they recorded their major label debut song, Killing Time. This single was also included in the soundtrack of 1997 film, Men in Black. The following year, the group released their self-titled debut album scoring their first major hit No, No, No.

The album established Destiny’s Child as a viable act in the music industry, amassing moderate sales and recognition. Like any other girl group, Destiny’s Child also suffer major dispute among its members. This is the probably the reason why in 2001 after releasing their holiday album, the group announced to pursue solo careers. In June 2003, Knowles released her first solo album, Dangerously in Love. The album immediately peaked at number one spot on the Billboard 200.

Of the same year, Knowles won her first solo award in the categories of Best Female Video, Best R&B Video and Best Choreography. In late 2005, Knowles also entered the big screen with Dreamgirls, the film adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical about a 1960s singing group, the Supremes. She also recorded several songs for the film’s soundtrack, including the original song Listen. Dreamgirls starred Jamie Foxx, Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson.
