Carrie Fisher is an American actress, novelist and lecturer, who is most notable for the portrayal of Princedd Leia Organa in the original trilogy of Star Wars. She was born on October 21, 1956 in Beverly Hills, California, to Eddie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, a singer and an actress. She was baptized with the real name of Carrie Frances Fisher and has a younger brother named Todd Fisher as well as half sisters named Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher, who were both actress. At the young age of two, Fisher’s mother and father parted ways, her father then married the actress Elizabeth Taylor while her mother married Harry Karl, who is a shoe store owner. It was expected that Fisher would be an actress, she then started on appearing together with her mother in Las Vegas, Nevada at the young age of 12. In addition, Fisher entered the Beverly Hills High School and later left to join her mother. She then began her career appearing in the Broadway hit called, Irene, in year 1973, where she portrayed the role of a singer and debutante, alongside her mother.

On the other hand, Fisher entered the London’s Central School in Speech and Drama in year 1973 for almost one year. Fisher made her film debut in the 1975 comedy film entitled, Shampoo, where she portrayed the role of Lorna Karpf, together with Warren Beatty and Julie Christie as well as Goldie Hawn. In year 1977, she portrayed the role of Princess Leia Organa in the film of Star Wars, which was also entitled to Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, together with Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford. On the following year, Fisher was included in the ABC TV film called, Leave Yesterday Behind, which also includes John Ritter. Moreover, the successful film of Star Wars earned her most of the attention of the viewers, which eventually made her famous. She then appeared again as Princess Leia in the TV film of The Star Wars Holiday Special in the year 1978. She was also included in the casts of the TVs series called, Come Back, Little Sheba, together with Laurence Oliver and Joanne Woodward. On the same year, Fisher appeared as a guest host in the renowned sketch comedy of Saturday Night Live, together with the musical guests, The Blues Brothers and Don Novello.

Moreover, Fisher also appeared in The Blues Brothers film, where she portrayed the role of the previous lover of Joliet Jake. She was also included in the ensemble of the Broadway production in year 1980 entitled, Censored Scenes from King Kong. On the same year, she reprised her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. On the other hand, Fisher had her final portrayal of Princess Leia in Star Wars Episode Vi: Return of the Jedi. She then appeared in the film called, The Man with One red Shoe as well as in Woody Allen’s Hannah and her Sisters in year 1986. In year 1989, Fisher portrayed the role of Marie in the romantic comedy film entitled, When Harry Met Sally, which starred Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan. On the same year, she starred together with Tom Hanks in the film of The ‘Burbs. In year 1991, Fisher appeared in the fantasy film called, Drop Dead Fred, where she portrayed the role of Janie, alongside Phoebe Cates and Rik Mayall. Fisher was also included in the casts of the 1997 film of Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. In addition, Fisher released to he books of Surrender the Pink and Delusions of Grandma.

In year 2000, Fisher appeared in the horror film called, Scream 3, where she portrayed the role of Bianca Burnett. On the following year, Fisher appeared as a nun in the comedy film of jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, which starred Jason Mewes and Shannon Elizabeth. Also, in year 2001, Fisher appeared together with Shirley MacLaine and Debbie Reynolds in the TV film called, These Old Broads, which she also co-produced. Aside from being a professional actress, Fisher was also one of the well respected script directors in Hollywood. Moreover, Fisher appeared as herself in the TV series of Sex and the City, in the episode called, Sex and Another City. On the following year, she portrayed the role of Mrs. Dubois in the romantic film of Stateside. She was also included in the casts of the 2005 film of Undiscovered. In year 2008, she lent her voice for a role in Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode II. In year 2010, she appeared as Anna Fowler in the TV series of Entourage as well as in Family Guy. She has also appeared as herself in the TV series of A Quiet Word With.
