Casey Affleck is an American actor and director, who was born on August 12, 1975 in Falmouth, Massachusetts, to Christine Anne and Timothy Byers Affleck, a teacher and a drug counselor. Casey Affleck has the combination of Irish, Scottish and German as well as English ancestry. In addition, Affleck was baptized with he real name of Caleb Casey McGuire Affleck-Boldt. He was raised in a mostly Episcopalian family/ in addition, Affleck has a brother named Ben Affleck, who is also an actor. Affleck entered the George Washington University as well as the Columbia University in New York, where he took major in Physics, Astronomy and Western philosophy but he has never been graduated. He subsequently worked sporadically irregularly on TV while he was in high school and attending college during the year 1990s.
On the other hand, the first film role that has been portrayed by Affleck was in the dark comedy called, To Die For, portraying the role of Russell Hines, a sociopathic teenager. The film starred Joaquin Phoenix and Nicole Kidman. Later that year, he appeared together with Halle Berry in the film of Race the Sun. He was then included in the casts of the films of Chasing Amy and Good Will Hunting, where he portrayed the role of Chuckie Sullivan. In year 1998, Affleck appeared in the comedy-drama film of Desert Blue, together with Brendan Sexton II, Kate Hudson and Christina Ricci as well as Sara Gilbert and John Heard.
On the following year, Affleck appeared together with Danny DeVito, Neve Campbell and Bette Midler in the comedy film of Drowning Mona. In year 2001, Affleck also appeared in the horror called, Soul Survivors, together with the star of Luke Wilson. On the same year, Affleck was included in the casts of the film entitled, Ocean’s Eleven, which has been directed by Steven Soderbergh. In the film, Affleck portrayed the role of Virgil Malloy together with George Clooney and Brad Pitt. On the other hand, Affleck reprised his role in the two sequels of the Ocean’s Twelve in year 2004 and in the Ocean’s Thirteen in year 2007.
Also, in year 2007 he portrayed the lead role of Robert Ford in the Western film of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. The film also includes Brad Pitt. For his portrayal on the film, Affleck earned a Golden Globe nomination for the category for the Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture and a nomination for a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role- Motion Picture. Affleck was also nominated for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role. In year 2010, he released his first major directorial film called, I’m Still Here. On the same year, he appeared together with Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba in the film of The Killer inside Me. In addition, Affleck is set to portray the lead role in the upcoming production of The Kind One, which is set to release in year 2012.
