Catherine Keener is an American actress, who is most notable for the portrayal in the film entitled, Being John Malkovich. She wa sborn on March 23, 1959 in Miami, Florida, to Evelyn and Jim Keener, who is a manager of an automotive store. Keener was raised as a Roman Catholic and had the Irish and Lebanese descent from her father and mother side. She entered a Catholic School. In addition, Keener also has a sister named, Elizabeth Keener, who is also an actress like her. On the other hand, Keener entered the Wheaton College, which is located at the Norton Massachusetts. She took major in English and History, attending in a theater course when she was not capable to attend into a photography class. Her initial theatrical production was in the play of Wendy Wasserstein entitled, Uncommon Women and Others.
In year 1987, Keener portrayed a supporting role of Lt. Cricet Sideris in the TV series called, Ohara. In year 1986, she had her first film appearance in the comedy drama film of About Last Night, where she portrayed the role of a Cocktail Waitress. Moreover, Keener also appeared as a guest star in one of the episodes of Seinfeld entitled, the letter, where she portrayed the role of Jerry’s Girlfriend. In year 1995, Keener appeared as Nicole in the independent film called, Living in Oblivion. Two years later, Keener earned a nomination for an Independent Spirit Award for her portrayal in Walking and Talking.
Furthermore, in year 2000, the actress also received her first Oscar nomination for the Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal in the film of Being John Malkovich, which has been directed by Spike Jonze. On the following year, she collaborated with the film director Nicole Holofceber in the film entitled, Lovely 7 Amazing, where she portrayed the role of Michelle Marks. In year 2002, she starred toetehr with Edward Norton on an Off-Broadway revival of Burn This and in the film of Dath to Smoochy. She was also included in the casts of the films of Full Friontal and S1m0ne, together with Al Pacino. In year 2005, she starred alongside Sean Penn and Nicole Kidman in the film of The Interpreter. On the same year, she was also included in the cats of the drama film of The Ballad of Jack and Rose.
In year 2006, Keener appeared in the film of Friends with Money and on the following year, she portrayed the role of Jan Burres in the film of Into the Wind, which was initially based on the book of Jon Krakauer. In year 2008, she also appeared in the film called, An American Crime. On the same year, she portrayed the role of Adele in the drama film of Synecdoche, New York. In year 2010, she appeared in the film of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, which was based on the book of Rick Riordan.
