Chris Brown has been accused of stealing a cell phone from a woman attempting to take photos of him outside of a Miami club on Sunday.
The singer, who is still on probation for assaulting Rihanna in 2009, was leaving a Miami Beach nightclub early Sunday when a woman approached him and snapped a photo with her iPhone, a police report states. The alleged victim, Christal Spann, 24, told officers she and some friends had followed Brown out of the club and took the photo while he was sitting in a black Bentley. The recent Grammy winner allegedly reached though his car window and snatched her phone from her hands. Brown supposedly told her, “B*tch, you ain’t going to put that on no website,” before rolling up the car window and speeding off with her iPhone.
Miami Beach Police spokesman Juan Sanchez told the Daily News that they do have an allegation and an open case and said that they are looking into it. According to him, there is no warrant for his arrest and they have not charged or accused him at this point. Brown, 22, could face serious repercussions if the allegations lead to a criminal case while he’s still on probation in Los Angeles County. But he skated through a similar storm last March after throwing a temper tantrum at an ABC studio in New York that triggered a response by New York Police Department.
In that incident, Brown reportedly trashed a dressing room, hurled a chair at a window and ripped off his T-shirt after “Good Morning America” co-host Robin Roberts questioned him about roughing up Rihanna. ABC staffers called security, an insider told the Daily News, but a formal complaint was never filed with authorities. The judge handling his case did not even mention the incident at his subsequent probation progress report hearing. Brown got five years of probation and six months of community service after pleading guilty to the felony assault that left Rihanna’s face bloodied and bruised. A police affidavit said Brown punched, choked and bit the “Umbrella” singer before trying to push her out of a car they were riding in. New recording collaborations from the former couple have fueled a new round of rumors that the duo is getting cozy once again.
It has been reported that the singer’s friends are concerned about her reconnection with ex Chris Brown. Sources close to the former couple told website TMZ that Rihanna and Chris are dangerously close to getting back together. Sources claim that Rihanna is still head over heels for Chris in spite of that night three years ago when she was brutally beaten by the singer. Similarly it is claimed that Chris, who is in a relationship with Karrueche Tran, also has extremely strong feelings for Rihanna. But both Rihanna and Chris’ friends are said to be ‘terrified’ they’ll get back together – and are doing everything they can to prevent a possible reunion. Both camps believe it is a terrible idea both personally and professionally. But with both Chris and Rihanna’s duets released this week friends fear they’re fighting an uphill battle. One source said that you can’t hold back love.
