Claire Danes is a American actress, who is most notable for the portrayal in the TV series of My So-Called Life. She was born on April 12, 1979 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, to Carla and Christopher Danes, a day-care provider and a former architectural photographer. Danes has an older brother named Asa. She entered the Dalton School in New York City and the New York City Lab School for Collaborative Studies. She also attended the Professional Performing Arts School as well as the Lycee Francias de Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California. In year 1998, she then went to the renowned Yale University. After spending two years of her life taking a psychology major, Danes left the school to concentrate on her professional film career.
On the other hand, Danes made her first acting job in an episode of the TV series of Law & Order entitled, Skin Deep. She has appeared in one of the episodes of the HBO’s Lifestories: Families in Crisis, called, The Coming out of Heidi Leiter. In year 1994, at the young age of 15, Danes portrayed the role of Angela Chase in the TV drama series of My SO-Called Life, which earned her a Golden Globe Award and also garnered her an Emmy Award nomination. In year 2010, Danes portrayed the lead role in the production of the cable network of HBO entitled, Temple Grandin, which is a biopic about the eponymous autistic woman. The [production garnered her the 2010 Emmy Award for the category for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie as well as the Golden Globe Award for the Best Actress- Miniseries or Television film. She also earned the 2011 Screen Actors Guild Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries award.
On the other hand, In year 2002, Danes starred together with Susan Sarandon and Keiran Culkin as well as Bill Pullman in the film entitled, Igby Goes Down. In year 2005, she then starred in the romantic comedy film of Shopgirl, where she portrayed the role of Mirabelle Buttersfield. In year 2007 she appeared in the film of Stradust, which also starred Charlie Cox and Michelle Pfeiffer as well as Robert De Niro and Sienna Miller. She also appeared in the drama called, Evening as well as in The Flock. Also, in year 2007, Danes made her Broadway heater debut in the Roundabout Theater Comapany remake of George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmation, where she portrayed the role of Eliza Doolittle.In year 2010, it was announced that she will be appearing in a pilot for the newest series of Showtime entitled, Homeland, where she portrays the role of a CIA agent, together with Mandy Patinkin and Damian Lewis.
