Daniel Mays is s British actor, who was born on March 31, 1978 in Epping, Essex, United Kingdom and was raised in Buchurst Hill, Essex. He is the son of an electrician and a bank cashier. In addition, he was baptized with the real name of Daniel Alan Mays and has entered the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts as well as the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). After he graduated on the said academy in year 2000, he soon began on portraying several supporting roles, which also includes the spot in the BBC soap opera of EastEnders also in year 2000. On the following year, he also appeared in the blockbuster hit action drama film of Pearl Harbor, which has been directed by Jerry Bruckheimer. In year 2002, Daniel Mays portrayed the role of Jason in the drama film called, All or Nothing, which also includes the stars of Timothy Spall and Lesley Manville as well as James Corden.

In year 2004, Daniel Mays appeared as Sid Drake in the crime drama film entitled, Vera Drake, which also includes the stars of Imelda Staunton and Richard Graham as well as Eddie Marsan. On the other hand, one of the most notable portrayal of Mays was said to be in the BBC drama called, Rehab, where he portrayed the role of Adam. In year 2005, Mays portrayed the role of Martin in the Spanish film of The Secret Life of Words, which also starred Sarah Polley and Tim Robbins as well as Javier Camara. On the following year, he appeared as Jim Hunter in the film called, Middleton. On the same year, he starred as Chris in the thriller film called, Shifty, together with Riz Ahmed. On the other hand, Mays in year 2009 portrayed the role of a young journalist in the science fiction film entitled, Mr. Nobody, together with the stars of Jared Leto and Diane Kruger as well as Sarah Polley. He was also included in the ensemble of the 2010 film of Nanny McPhee and the Bigbang, where he portrayed the role of Blenkinshop. He then starred together with Sally Hawkins in the film called, Made in Dagenham. In addition, Mays is set to appear in the upcoming film of Hippie Hippie Shake.
