The American rock singer-songwriter, who is most notable on winning the title of the season seven of the reality show of American Idol, was born on December 20, 1982 In Houston, Texas to Beth Foraker and Stanley Cook. He was raised in Blue Springs, Missouri and currently own homes in Kansas City as well in Los Angeles, California. He has the combination of German, English and descent.

The 28-year-old recording artist, showed his passion in music, when he was on his young age. He started singing when he was currently on his second grade, when his music teacher gave him a piece in a School Christmas performance. He kept on performing almost every Christmas as well in PTA program. At the age of 13, Cook received his very first guitar and gets involved in choir and drama when he was on his middle and high school.

David Cook was not just a singer but an eager baseball player as well, especially when he was on his high school days. Cook suffered an injury that resulted for him to concentrate on his music. He won a scholarship to the University of Central Missouri but left the theater after his two semesters and finished school in year 2006, having the degree in graphic design.

While he was on his high school days, David Cook established a band alongside his friend, Bobby Kerr. It was said that their band was originally named as Red Eye and later changed to Axium. However, the band broke in year 2006 and by then Cook joined the band of Midwest Kings.

He rose to fame when he won the title of the seventh season of the American Idol show. On the other hand, Cook does not have any plan to audition for the said show and was originally went to the auditions in Omaha, Nebraska just to give support for her brother who unfortunately did not make it. He then auditioned when he was encouraged by her mother and brother and when one of the producers of the show noticed him.

It was announced on May 21, 2008 that David Cook was the one who won the seventh season of the American Idol show. He garnered almost half of the total votes of the show. He then sang the season seven winning song of the American Idol show entitled, The Time of my Life. On the exact tally, Cook earned 54 percent of the total votes while David Archuleta earned the remaining 44 percents of the votes.

On February 2010, Cook confirmed that he worked hard for his second album. In addition, he already collaborated with most of the renowned artists in the world of music. On the other hand, Cook used his Twitter account to announce the title of his newest single called, The Last Goodbye, on March 2011. The single debuted on April 19 of the same year. On April 15, 2011, it was also announced that the name of his upcoming album called, This Loud Morning. The album is said to unleash on June 28, 2011.
