Diane Lane is an American actress, who is most notable for the portrayal of Connie Summer in the 2002 film entitled, Unfaithful. She was born on January 22, 1965 in New York City, to Colleen Farrington and Burton Eugene Lane, a singer and a drama coach. When Lane was only 13 month old, her mother and father parted ways/ her mother then moved to Mexico and had the divorce while she has the rights to take care Lane until six years old. On the other hand, her father had custody on her when her mother relocated to Georgia. At the young age of fifteen, Lane ran away to Los Angele together with her fellow actor Christopher Atkins for a week. However, she made her return to New York and moved in with one of their family friends. In year 1981, Lane attended high school after she took correspondence course.
On the other hand, at the young age of six, Lane started her professional acting career at the MaMa Experimental Theater Club in New York, where she had an appearance in a production of Medea. At the age of 12, Lane earned a spot in one of the productions of Joseph Papp entitled, The Cherry Orchard, together with Meryl Streep. At that time, Lane had an accelerated program at the Hunter College High School. At the age of 13, she dropped down a role in Runaways on Broadway for her to have her feature film debut together with Laurence Oliver in the 1979 romantic comedy film called, A Little Romance. She earned much prominence when Oliver considered her as The New Grace Kelly.
Moreover, her breakthrough performance came when she appeared in the film of The Outsiders as well as in the Rumble Fish, where she portrayed the role of Patty. In year 1984, Lane was included in the casts of the film entitled, Street of Fire, where she portrayed the role of Ellen Aim. On the other hand, Lane crashed down the movie business and then lived together with her mother in Georgia. In year 1987, Lane made his return on big screen with the film called, The Big Town. Lane earned an Emmy Award nomination for her portrayal in the miniseries of Lonesome Dove. She subsequently portrayed the role of Paulette Goddard in the film called, Chaplin. In year 1999, Lane starred together with Viggo Mortensen in the drama film of A Walk in The Moon.
Furthermore, in year 2000, Lane earned a supporting role in the film of entitled, The Perfect Storm, which also includes the stars of George Clooney and Mark Wahlberg. In year 2002, she starred in the drama film of unfaithful, which is initially based on the French film of The Unfaithful Wife. In year 2008, she appeared with Richard Gere in the film of Nights in Rondantine. In addition, in year 2010, lane starred in the Disney film called, Secretariat. On the following year, it was announced that she would be portraying the role of Martha Kent in the Superman film called, Man of Steel.
