George Clooney Addresses Gay Rumors for the First TimeHe’s long been the subject of rampant tabloid speculation over his sexuality, but George Clooney says he doesn’t mind. Apparently, despite plowing through a slew of hot women, people think Clooney is secretly gay. He has dated a slew of beauties, including Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis, British model Lisa Snowden and currently former WWE wrestles Stacey Keibler.

Just recently, the Oscar-nominated actor has spoken out about the speculation in an interview with U.S. based national gay and lesbian news magazine, The Advocate. The descendants star says that he does not care if people think he is gay define when it comes to his sexuality, because it would be unfair and unkind to his close friends who are homosexual. I think it is funny but the last thing you will ever see him doing is jump up and down, saying that those are lies. He said that it would be unfair and unkind to his good friends in the gay community. He added that he is not going to let anyone make it seem like being gay is a bad thing. Also, he said that his private life is private and he is very happy in it asking who it hurts if someone thinks he is gay. Clooney said that he will be long dead and there will still be people who say that he was gay noting that he does not give a s***.

Clooney, who is also an advocate for gay marriage, says that the current government’s stance on the marriage equality is archaic. According to him, it is always been this albatross that stood out to him as the final leg of the civil rights movement. He said that one day the marriage equality fight will look as archaic as George Wallace standing on the University of Alabama steps keeping James Hood from attending college because he was black. So Clooney said that it is encouraging to know that this too will seem like such a silly argument to their next generation adding that there are even a lot of young conservatives today for whom marriage equality is not an issue. According to him, it always takes government an extra generation to catch up to the people. Clooney’s close pal Brad Pitt has joked in the past about the gay rumours surrounding his friend saying that he would not marry Angelina Jolie until his friend could marry his own partner. Clooney said that Pitt’s joke is effective because it points out the ridiculousness of marriage inequality.

Brad has also joked that he is not getting married until he can legally marry his partner. Pitt said that Clooney has been funny about it, because he knows that the best and most effective way to end marriage inequality is to point out the ridiculousness of it. In the interview he also boasts about his bromance with his Ocean’s Eleven co-star. Clooney said that he do think they have set the bar very high. He adds that people think he and Brad hang out all the time, but the truth is that they see each other very rarely, maybe a couple times a year. According to Clooney, he had a great fun spending time with his friend again over the awards season. Not only do Clooney enjoy Brad as a person and respect his talent but he also love what Brad does on the world. Clooney said that he cannot speak highly enough about how hard he works at making the world better noting that he is very proud to call Brad his friend.

At 50 years old, George Clooney is just old enough to be a father to his ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis.  They may have looked like the picture of amore during the two years that they were together.  However, Elisabetta Canalis now says her superstar ex George Clooney was more like a father figure.  The Italian TV personality, whose relationship with the 50-year-old Oscar winner ended last June, is finally speaking out about their time together in Questo Amore (This Love), a new book by Italian journalist Bruno Vespa.

At one point, Elisabetta praises her ex calling him the person who valued her feminine side the most, according to a translation provided to People Magazine.  She heaps more praise on the actor-director saying he was also one of the best people she has met from a charitable point of view.  However, as she lets her guard down, the 33-year-old former Dancing with the Stars contestant revealed that Clooney has been special for her, and very important, just as a father would be.  Elisabetta elaborated her statement by explaining that with George it was more of a father-daughter relationship adding that it was a great love and it was like living a fairy tale.  According to her, George is a real gentleman even with his private life and she was very respected as a partner.

As for their breakup, Canalis denies reports that Clooney’s refusal to settle down ultimately caused their split.  She said that George and she never spoke of marriage nor of having kids.  She said that she does not put limits to the possibility of having them, but neither George nor she had ever envisaged having kids together.  According to her, a marriage issue did not cause the end of the relationship but instead by their personal needs.  She also said that it was love at first sight for her when they met back in 2009.  She claimed that she threw herself body and soul into her relationship with George.  Four days after they met she packed her bags and moved in with him.

Clooney quickly moved on after their breakup and is now dating former wrestler and Dancing with the Stars alum, Stacy Keibler.  It appears Elisabetta has also found love again, in the form of a younger actor.  The Italian star has been spotted several times in recent days with 31-year-old former True Blood star Mehcad Brooks.  Elisabetta was in Europe for the German GQ Awards where she announced Roberto Cavalli as the magazine’s Man of the Year honoree.

Canalis also claimed that her relationship with George did not damage her.  According to her, she was with a man who is famous across the world and she will go forward on her own.  She has absolutely no hard feelings for her ex, despite his quick, very public rebound with Keibler.  She said that George respected her feminine sensibility and was a marvelous boyfriend and one of the nicest people she have ever met because of his humanity.
