Guy Pearce is an Australian actor, who is most notable for the portrayal of Leonardo Shelby in the film entitled, Memento. He was born on October 5, 1967 in Cambridgeshire, to Anne Cocking and Stuart Pearce, a schoolteacher and an air force pilot. However, his father died when he was at the young age of nine. In addition, Pearce was baptized with the real name of Guy Edward Pearce. On the other hand, Pearce relocated to Geelong, Australia at the age of three. He then entered The Geelong College, which is said to be a local private school and was also became one of the members of the GSODA Junior Players. He was also a competitive amateur bodybuilder and leading to the title of the Junior Mr. Victoria. He live in Box Hill North, Victoria in the year 1980s, while he was still working on the Australian drama series called, Neighbours.
Moreover, Pearce portrayed several leading roles in various productions when he was still young and then included in the casts of the Australian soap opera called, Neighbours in year 1985, where he portrayed the role of Mike Young. He subsequently appeared in the TV series of Home and Away in year 1988 as well as in the 1993 TV series of Snowy River: The McGregor Saga. Pearce portrayed the role of Andy Warhol in the 2006 Biographical film of Factory Girl, which also starred Sienna Miller and Hayden Christensen as well Jimmy Fallon. In year 2008, He starred together with Catherine Zeta-Jones in the romantic film of Death Defying Acts. On the same year, he appeared in the film of Bedtime Stories, which also starred Adam Sandler and Keri Russell. In year 2009, he also appeared in the drama film entitled, The Road, alongside Kodi Smith McPhee and Robert Duval as well as Charlize Theron. Also, in year 2009, Pearce made his return to stage after seven years off stage. In year 2010, he portrayed the role of King Edward VIII in the box office historical drama film of The King’s Speech. In year 2011, Pearce appeared in the horror film of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.
