The “Hero” star, Hayden Panettiere was emotional as the Italian Appeals court threw out the verdict for Amanda Knox’s Murder case after four years of incarceration.  The 22-year-old actress starred in the “Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy” playing the role of the 24-year old Seattle honor student Amanda Knox who was accused of murdering her college roommate Meredith Kercher with her boyfriend Rafaelle Sollecito and acquaintance Rudy Guede.  “I was on the edge of my bed, my eyes welled up when I heard the verdict read,” the actress told Billy and Bush and Kit Hoover on Thursday’s Access Hollywood Live.  “It’s hard for me because I played her. I do feel like I have a certain connection with her,” she continued.  “It’s difficult for me to say that I’m not excited to see a young girl get a second chance at life and she does have a second chance, and I hope she makes the best of it.”

On the verdict for Amanda Knox, Hayden said, “Guilt or innocence, I don’t think anyone will ever know exactly what happened. It’s such a confusing case. I hope no one gets mad at me for saying that there’s a certain gift to be taken out of an experience like that, but it’s kind of human nature to have your sense of appreciation for things dulled over time.”   “I’m sure it’s been a nightmare for this girl, and I’d never try to imagine what she’s been through and how she feels, but there’s something to be said for getting that second chance.”

Currently starring on the movie “Fireflies in the garden” opposite Julia Roberts and Ryan Reynolds, Hayden feels like her Lifetime movie stands on its own and doesn’t need to shoot a new ending.  “I think the great thing about that film was that it ended. It was so fact based that it ended when she went to jail, regardless the ending wouldn’t change,” she explained.

Answering questions like would she consider doing a second movie about Amanda Knox, she said, “I just don’t know how differently they’d do the story or what they’d do it about and because it was such public knowledge. They had such facts and information,” she told Billy and Kit. “Now, if they did it about her being in jail, I feel like they would have to get her involved.”  Adding, “I’d definitely read another script about her… but doing another movie would depend on a whole lot of things though.”

The Amanda Knox case caused a great deal of emotion soliciting ample of contradicting statements from other Hollywood stars.  Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards immediately tweeted: “So happy Amanda Knox is free.  My heart goes out to her, her family and Meredith Kercher’s family.”  “Congratulations to amanda knox and the knox family for the overturning of her guilty verdict in italy. What a relief it must be for them!!” Newlywed Nick Lacheyposted.  Brody Jenner seemed surprised by the outcome, writing: “Wow Amanda Knox found not guilty? I am shocked.. What do u guys think?”
