Helen Hunt, an American actress who is most notable for the portrayal in the series show of Mad about You, was born on June15, 1963 in Culver City, California, to Jane Elizabeth and Gordon Hunt, a photographer and a film director. She was baptized with the name of Helen Elizabeth Hunt. Hunts spent most of her childhood in New York City and she then entered the University of California at Los Angeles. In early 1970’s Hunt began on working as a child actress. She subsequently appeared in the sitcom of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, where she portrayed the role of the daughter of Murray Slaughter. She also appeared together with Lindsay Wagner in one of the episodes in the American TV series of The Bionic Woman and she then earned a regular slot in the TV series of The Swiss Family Robinson.

Helen Hunt also appeared in one of the episodes of The Facts of Life, where she portrayed the role of girl who is using marijuana. On the other hand, Hunt starred in the 1985 film called, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, together with Sarah Jessica Parker and Shannen Doherty. In addition, Hunt rose to fame when she was included as one of the lead roles in the American sitcom of Mad about You, where she was garnered an Emmy Awards for her portrayal in year 1996 up to 1999. She took home an Academy Award for the category of Best Actress for the portrayal of Carol Connelly in the film entitled, As Good as it Gets, which also includes the star of Jack Nicholson.

After earning the said award, Hunt had a break away from the big screen for her to focus on her role as Viola in the Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night at the Lincoln Center in New York City. In year 2000, Hunt made her comeback in big screen, appearing in four different films such as the film of Dr. T & the Women, alongside Richard Gere and in the film of Pay it Forward, which also includes the stars Kevin Spacey and Haley Joel Osment. She also starred together with Mel Gibson in the film of What Women Want as well as in the drama film of Cast Away, which starred Tom Hanks. In addition, Hunt returned to Broadway in year 2003 in the play of Yasmina Reza entitled, Life x 3. In year 2006, Hunt was included in the casts of the drama film of Bobby, which also starred Demi Moore, Anthony Hopkins, Sharon Stone and William H. Macy.

Helen Hunt, who also a director made her first directorial film entitled, Then She Found Me, where she also portrayed one of its role, together with the star of Matthew Broderick. In her personal life, Hunt married Han Azaria in year 1999, after the two dated for five years. However, Hunt and Azaria ended their marriage in year 2000. Hunt has been in a relationship with Matthew Carnahan, a year after her broken marriage, they had a daughter named Makena Lei Gordon Carnahan, who was born on May 13, 2004.
