Helena Bonham Carter is an English actress, who was born on May 26, 1966 in Golders Green, London, to Elena and Raymond Bonham Carter, a psychotherapist and a merchant banker. She has two brothers named Edward and Thomas and is the cousin of the actor Crispin Bonham Carter, who is also an actor. Helena was also related with the Ian Fleming. Helena attended the South Hampstead High School, which is an independent girls’ school in Hampstead London. She also entered the Westminster School, which is near the Palace of West Minster. Un addition, Helena was not accepted in the King’s College, Cambridge, because of the reason that the officials of the said school was worried that she would leave the school in mid-term for her to pursue her acting career.
When it comes to her professional career, Helena won a national writing contest and she used her prize to pay for her entry into the actor’s directory of Spotlight. At the young age of 16, she debuted in a TV commercial and also had a small part in the TV film called, A Pattern of Roses. She then made her first starring role in the romantic drama film of Lady Jane, where she portrayed the role of Lady Jane Grey. She subsequently earned her breakthrough role in the British drama film entitled, A room with a View, where she portrayed the role of Lucy Honeychurch. In year 1986 p to year 1987, she portrayed the role of the love interest of Don Johnson in the TV series of Miami Vice.
In year 1996, she portrayed the role of Olivia in the film adaptation of Twelfth Night. She was subsequently included in various films like Fight Club, Wallace & Grornit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. She also appeared in the films of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and n Corpse Bride and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street as well in Alice in Wonderland. In August 2001, Helena was features in the well known magazine called, Maxim. She then portrayed the role of Anne Boleyn in the series show of Henry Vill. In year 2006 she became one of the judges at the Cannes Film Festival.
Helena portrayed a recurring role in the films of Harry Potter. She then portrayed the role of Mrs. Lovett in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical production of the Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The film garnered her nomination for the Golden Globe Award for the category of Best Actress. In year 2010, she portrayed the role of Queen Elizabeth in the film called, the King’s Speech and as of the year of 2011, she had received various applause for her performance, which also includes a nominations for the BAFTA Award for the Best Actress in a Supporting Role as well as the Academy Award for the Best Supporting Actress. In addition, Helena is set to receive his Britannia Award for the Best British Artist for the Year in November 2011.
