Henry Cavill is a British actor, who earned much prominence for the portrayal Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk, in the TV series called, The Tudors. He was born on May 5, 1983 in Jersey, Channel Islands, to Marianne and Colin Cavill, who is a stockbroker. He was baptized with the real name of Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill and attended the St. Michael’s Preparatory School in Saint Saviour, Jersey. He also entered the Stowe School, which is said to be a boarding school in Buckinghamshire, England. On the other hand, Cavill started to act in some of the play production of his prep school. However, Cavill affirmed that if he is not an actor, he would likely to be part of the army or even entered a university and take ancient history, particularly the Egyptology. On the other hand, Cavill made her professional debut on acting when he portrayed the lead role of Thomas Aprea in the 2001 film entitled, Laguna. On the following year, Cavill starred in the romantic adventure film called, The Count of Monte Cristo, where he portrayed the lead role of Albert Mondego, together with the stars of James Caviezel Guy Pearce and Richard Harris.
On the same year, Cavill appeared in one of the episode of the BBC TV series called, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, where he portrayed the role of Chas Quitter. Cavill was also included in the casts of the 2002 TV film of Goodbye Mr. Chips, where he played the role of Soldier Colley. In year 2003, Cavill appeared in the TV series of Misdomer Murders and in the film called, I Capture the Castle, where he portrayed the role of Stephen Colley. He then appeared in the 2005 film entitled, Hellraiser: Hellworld, where he portrayed the role Mike, together with the stars if Doug Bradley, Lance Henriksen and Katheryn Winnick. He was also included in the ensemble of the 2006 romantic drama film of Trstan & Isolde, where he played the role of Melot, alongside James Franco, Rufus Sewell and Sophia Myles. In year 2007, Cavill appeared in the film of Red Riding Hood, where he portrayed the role of the Hunter, together with the stars of Morgan Thompson and Debi Mazar as well as Joey Fatone.
On the same year, Cavill had a minor role Humphrey in the fantasy film of Stardust, which also starred Ian McKelle, Claire Danes, Charlie Cox, and Michelle Pfeiffer as well as Robert De Niro and Sienna Miller. Also, in year 2007, Cavill earned the role of Charles Brandon, which he portrayed until 2010, in the YV series of The Tudors, which also starred Sam Neil, Callum Blue and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Cavill was included in the casts of the 2009 horror film called, Blood Creek, which is also known as the Creek and Town Creek. In the film, he portrayed the role of Evan Marshall, the brother of Victor Marshall, which was portrayed by DominicPurcell. On the same year, Cavill starre together with Larry David, Evan Rachel Wood, Patricia Clarkson and Michael McKean in the 2009 comedy film entitled, Whatever Works, where he portrayed the role of Randy lee James. On the other hand, Cavill is set to star in the 2011 upcoming film called, Immortals, where he will be portraying the role of Theseus, king of Athens. The film is set to hit the big screen on November 11, 2011. He was also included as the lead role in the upcoming thriller film of The Cold Light of Day and has also won the role of Superman in the upcoming film of Man of Steel.
