The American comedian-actor, Jack Black, who is one of the most notable members of the satirical rock duo called, Tenacious D, was born on August 28, 1968 at Santa Monica, California and was baptized with the name of Thomas Jacob Black, to Judith and Thomas William Black, who are both worked as a satellite engineers. He was one of the members of the comedy group of, The Frat Pack, a group of comedian actors who have already appeared in various Hollywood films and has also been given several awards.

Jack Black’s acting job started on a prime time television and he already appeared on several shows like, Life Goes On and in comedy-drama series of Northern Exposure. Black was also included in the comedy series of The Show. In addition, Black was also appeared in the unaired TV pilot of the Heat Vision and Jack, which has been directed by Ben Stiller. On the said sitcom, he portrayed the role of an ex-astronaut that has been continued by Ron Silver.

His career was soon led to leading roles in films like Shallow Hal and The School of Rock as well as Nacho Libre, Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, Year One and in the film of Gulliver’s Travel. In addition, Jack Black also appeared as a guest star on the series show of The office, together with Cloris Leachman and Jessica Alba as well as Steve Carell. On the other hand, his latest film entitled, The Big Year, which also stared Owen Wilson and Steve Martin as well as JoBeth Williams, is set to hit the big screen on October 2011.

In year 2006, Black Jack hosted the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards and hosted it again on 2009 as well as on year 2011. On August 2006, he also made an appearance on the MTV video music awards. Black has also made a total of five appearances on the Saturday Night Live, he appeared as a host for three times and once as a musical guest, together with Kyle Gass and made an another appearance together with the Tenacious D. In addition, Black who is also known as JB or Jables, is the lead vocalist of the comedy band of Tenacious D together with Kyle Glass. The band has already released two albums; the first one is a self-titled album that follows by their second album called, The Pick of destiny.

In his personal life, Black became engaged to Tanya Haden in January 2006. They both entered the Crossroads Schools and met again after 25 years at a common friend’s party. In 2005, Jack Black proposed to Haden few hours before Christmas and on March 2006, they tied the knot in Big Sur California. The couple had children, their son, Samuel Jason, who was born on June 2006 and their second son, Thomas David Black.
