James Caviezel’s Biography and PicturesJames Caviezel is an American actor, who earned much prominence for the portrayal of Jesus Christ in the 2004 film entitled, The Passion of the Christ. He was born on September 26, 1968 in Mount Vermon, Washington, United States, to Margaret and James Caviezel, who is a homemaker and a chiropractor. He was baptized with the real name of James Patrick Caviezel and was raised as a Roman Catholic. He has four siblings a brother name Timothy and three sisters named Ann, Amy and Erin. In addition, Caviezel studied at the Mount Vernon High School for only two years. He then relocated to Seattle together with his family for him to be able to play basketball at the Catholic O’Dea High School. He then moved to another Catholic School, the John F. Kennedy Memorial High, which is located in Burien. After he graduated in high school, Caviezel entered the Bellevue Community College, where he played college basketball. After being injured in the foot, Caviezel’s dram to be an NBA player was eventually shattered. He subsequently transferred to another school, the University of Washington, where he showed interest in acting and became one of the members of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

On his acting career, Caviezel appeared in the TV series of Murder, She Wrote and in The Wonder Years. In year 1994, Caviezel appeared in the Western film called, Wyatt Earp and in the 1997 action film of G.I. Jane, where he portrayed the roles of Warren Earp and ‘Slov’ Slovnik, respectively. He then had his breakthrough role when he appeared in the 1998 war film entitled, The Thin Red Line, where he portrayed the role of Pvt. Robert Witt, together with Sean Penn and Adrien Brody as well as George Clooney. On the following year, Caviezel appeared as Black John Ambrose in the film of Ride with the Devil. On the other hand, Caviezel was originally set to portray the role of Cyclops or Scott Summer in the 2000 film of X-Men but he turned down the offer because of the schedule conflict. Nevertheless, Caviezel starred together with Dennis Quaid in the science fiction film called, Frequency, where he portrayed the role of John Sullivan. On the following year, Caviezel starred in the drama film called, Angel Eyes, which also starred Jennifer Lopez. Caviezel was also included in the ensemble of the 2002 film called, The Count of Monte Cristo, where he portrayed the role of Edmond Dantes, together with the stars of Guy Pearce and Richard Harris.

In year 2004, Caviezel was cast as Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson film entitled, The Passion of the Christ. It was said that during the filming, Caviezel was hit by lightning and accidently whip. As a result, Caviezel’s shoulder was dislocated and had his eyes bruised and has also experience hypothermia. Before the filming of movie, Gibson told him that portraying the role of Jesus could have a great impact on her acting career. In addition, Caviezel recently confessed that ever since he portrayed the said role, good offers have been hard to get. On the other hand, Caviezel portrayed the lead role in the 2006 crime-thriller film called, Unknown, which also starred Greg Kinnear and Bridget Moynahan. He was also included in the casts of the 2008 science fiction film of Outlander, where he portrayed the lead role of Kainan. On the same year, he appeared in the 2008 remake of the Australian film Long Weekend. He subsequently appeared as Michael/Six in the miniseries called, The Prisoner.  In year 2011, Caviezel starred in the TV series called, Person of Ineterest.
