James Marsden’s Biography and PicturesJames Marsden is an American actor, who is most notable for the portrayal of the superhero Cyclops in the X-Men Films. He was born on September 18,1973 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. His father, James L. Marsden, Ph.D., is an animal science and industry professor in Kansas, while her mother is a nutritionist. His mother and father parted way when he was at the young age of nine. He was baptized with the real name of James Pal Marsden and has two sisters named Jenifer and Elizabeth as well as brothers named, Jeff and Robert. In addition, Marsden entered the Oklahoma State University but left after one and a half year, choosing to move to Los Angeles for him to pursue a professional career on acting. In his early career, Marsden had his initial job when he appeared as Eddie in some of the episodes of the TV series called, The Nanny. The then starred in the Canadian TV series of Boogies Diner, where he portrayed the role of Jason, together with Jim J. Bullock. The series run for only one season. After the series ended, Marsden appeared as a guest star in the TV series called Saved by the Bell and Party of Five.

In year 1904, Marsden portrayed the role of Tyler Cochran in the comedy film called, No Dessert Dad, til You Mow the Lawn, which also includes the stars of Joanna Kerns and Robert Hays. He then appeared in the 1996 film of Public Enemies, where he portrayed the role of Doc Barker, alongside Theresa Russell and Eric Roberts. He was also included in the ensemble of the 1996 TV film of Gone in a Hearbeat, where he portrayed the role of Michael Galler. On the following year, Marsden appeared as Jake Walker also in the TV film of On The Edge of Innocence. Marsden portrayed the role of Luka in the 1997 TV film of Bella Mafia, which also starred Vanessa Redgrave, Dennis Farina and Nastassja Kinski. On the following year, Marsden earned the role of Derrick Webb in the teen drama film called, Gossip, together with the stars of Lena header and Norman Reedus. Subsequently, Marsden was included in the ensemble of the X-Men Films, where he portrayed the role of Cyclops, together with the stars of Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Famke Janssen as well as Halle Berry.

On the other hand, in year 2001, Marsden appeared as Jack Barlett in the comedy film called, Sugar and Spice. Marsden was also included in the ensemble of the 2002 film of Interstate 60: Episodes of the Road, where he portrayed the role of Neal Oliver, together with the stars of Gary Oldman and Amy Smart as well as Christopher Lloyd and Michael J. Fox. Marsden then reprised his role as Scott Summers or also known as Cyclops in X2: X-Men United, the second sequel of X-Men film series. on the following year, Marsden appeared in the film called, The 24th Day, where he portrayed the role of Dan together with Scott Speedman and Sofia Vergara. On the same year, he starred opposite Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in the romantic film entitled, The Notebook, where he portrayed the role of Lon Hammond, Jr. the film was a box office hit, earning a total amount of $115,603,229 compare to its budget amounting to $29 Million. Also, in year 2004, Marsden appeared as Jonathan Kestler in the film called, Heights. In year 2006, Marsden appeared in the films of The Alibi, 10th & Wolf and X-Men: The Last Stand, where he portrayed the roles of Wendell hatch, Tommy and Scott Summers/Cyclops, respectively. On the same year he starred together with Brandon Routh and Kate Bosworth as well as Kevin Spacey in the superhero film of Superman Returns, where he portrayed the role of Richard White.

In year 2007, Marsden starred in the musical film called, Hairspray, where he portrayed the role of Corny Collins, together with the stars of Nikki Blonsky and John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken as well as Zac Efron. After his appearance on the said film, Marsden starred with Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey and Susan Sarandon in the fantasy-musical film called, Enchanted, where he portrayed the role of Prince Edward. On the other hand, he starred opposite Katherine Heigl in the 2008 romantic comedy film entitled, 27 Dresses. He was also included in the casts of the 2008 comedy film of Sex Drive, which starred Josh Zuckerman. For his portrayal on the film of Enchanted and 27 Dresses Marsden earned as Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice Movie Actor in a Comedy. Marsden also appeared in the 2009 film called, The Box, where he portrayed the role of Arthur Lewis, together with the stars of Cameron Diaz and Frank Langella. On the following year, Marsden was included in the ensemble of the comedy film called, Death at a Funeral. On the other hand, Marsden had an appearance in the TV series of ABC called, Modern Family. In addition, Marsden is set to appear in the upcoming films of As Cool As I Am, Dead Circus and Bachelorette as well as The Loft.
