Jason Isaacs is an English actor, who is most notable for the portrayal of Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter films. He was born on June 6, 1963 in Liverpool, Merseyside. His mother and father were both Jewish. Isaacs was the third of four children. On the other hand, he entered a Jewish school and at the young age of 11, he together with his family relocated to Northwest London, enrolling at the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School, and in Elstree. He also entered the Herstmere and Hertfordsire. In addition, Isaacs also took law at the Bristol University. However, Isaacs turned to be more interested in the drama society, appearing in not less than 30 plays and also performing each of the summer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Moreover, after Isaacs finished his training as an actor, he almost started on appearing in various stage productions and in TV as well. On the other hand, he had his film debut when he portrayed the small role of Doctor Mel Smith in the romantic comedy film entitled, The Tall Guy in year 1989. On the same year, he starred in the TV series of Capital City, where he portrayed the role of Chas Ewell. In year 1992, Isaacs was also included in the casts of the BBC drama called, Civvies as well as the guest roles in the 1992 TV series of Inspector Morse. He then portrayed the role of Michael Ryan in the adaptation of the book of Dangerous Lady, which has been directed by Jack Woods.
In year 1997, he had his first Hollywood role when he portrayed the role of Lieutenant Commander D.J. in the film entitled, Event Horizon, which also includes the stars of Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neil as well as Kathleen Quinlan and Joely Richardson. On the following year, he also appeared in the science fiction film called, Armageddon, where he portrayed the role of Dr. Ronald Quincy. The film also includes the stars of Bruce Willis and Benn Affleck as well as Billy Bob Thornton. He subsequently appeared in the film of Divorcing Jack, following his role in the Harry Potter film series.
In year 2000, Isaacs was included in the casts of the Historical war film of The Patriot, where he portrayed the role of Colonel William Tavington, alongside Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger as well as Joely Richardson. On the following year, he starred together with Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves in the romantic drama film called, Sweet November. He then portrayed the role of Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter film series from the year 2002 up to year 2011. In year 2006, he portrayed the role of Sir Mark Brydon in the BBC Four miniseries called, The State Within. In year 2010, he reprised his role in the film series of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 1and its part 2 on the following year. He also appeared in the 2011 film of Abduction, which also starred Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins.
