Jason Lee is an American actor and skateboarder, who is famously known for his portrayal in the NBC series of My Name is Earl. He was born on April 25, 1970 in Orange County, California, to Carol and Greg Lee. He was rasied in Huntington Beach and entered the Ocean View High School. He was baptized with the real name of Jason Michael Lee. Lee is a well known professional skateboarder in year 1980s and in early 1990s. he co-established the Stereo Skateboards, together with Chris Pastras in year 1992 and revived it in year 2003 after being obsolete for so many years. It was said that Lee and Tony Hawk were the first two skateboarders to earn a signature shoe with the Airwalk.
On the other hand, Lee collaborated with Hawk when he voiced a character to the skateboarding video game called, Tony Hawk’s Project 8. He then appeared in another skateboarding video game in year 2010. In addition, Lee also had a part in the 1991 Blind Skateboards video called, Video Days. In year 2004, the skateboarding of Lee has been featured in the film entitled, Way Out East, which has been produced by the Stereo Skateboards. On his acting career, Lee had taken some minor roles. In year 1992, he has a small role in the film of Mi Vida Loca. It was said that Lee left skateboarding to give his full time on acting.
Moreover, his first major role occurred in the 1995 film of Mallrats, where he portrayed the role of Brodie Bruce, together with Shannen Doherty and Jeremy London. His portrayal on the said film led him to have a friendship to Kevin Smith, appearing in several films of Smith, which also includes the Chasing Amy and Dogma as well as the Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. He also appeared on Clerks 2 and Cop Out. On the other hand, his portrayal of Banky Edwards in the film of Chasing Amy, garnered him an Independent Spirit Award. Lee then starred together with Jennifer Love Hewitt in Heartbreakers.
He subsequently portrayed the lead role of Jason Plummer in the 2002 crime comedy film called, Stealing Harvard, which also includes the stars of Tom Green and Leslie Mann. Lee was offered the lead role in one of the sitcoms of NBC entitled, My Name is Earl, where he portrayed the role of Earl Hickey. His portrayal earned him nominations for two Golden Globe for the Best performance by a Actor in a Television Series- Musical or Comedy. After the fourth season, the series has been pulled out. In year 2010, he portrayed the role Dwight Hendricks in the TV series of Memphis Beat. He also appeared as a guest star in one of the episodes of Raising Hope.
