Jessica Simpson, the American singer turned fashion designer, has postponed her wedding to husband Eric Johnson. Simpson and the former NFL star got engaged almost a year ago on November, but an insider claims all wedding plans have been put on hold, reports US Weekly Magazine. The 31-year-old does not want to cause herself any undue stress during her pregnancy, which is why Jessica Simpson has postponed the wedding, which was originally planned to happen this month.
According to an insider, they were both really committed to getting married and were both really into making decisions about what kind of wedding they wanted. The source also said that it is just going to be at a later date now because they really want to enjoy this time in their lives.
Earlier, a source close to the couple claimed that Simpson was undecided about the venue and was therefore postponing the nuptials, saying that everything is up in the air and she cannot figure out what day she wants. According to the source, some days she wants a big wedding in Hawaii then other days she wants something closer to home. Some of the actress’ friends fear delays is down to more than just the venue with one saying that she was very spirited about planning the wedding and now she has gone dark and she would not commit to a date.
This will be the second marriage for Jessica, who wed singer Nick Lachey in 2002; the couple finalized their divorce in 2006. It is the first marriage for Eric, 32. The couple is, obviously, over the moon to become parents, though their unborn child was not a planned move. A source stated that they are really excited though it was not something they planned per se, it is not something they were trying to avoid. The source added that they are both family-oriented and having a baby is something they both wanted. Contrary to reports that Jessica was having a girl, the couple does not know the baby’s sex.
While some are thinking that her decision to wait was based on wanting to look good in her wedding gown, the actress’ recent comments in Lucky magazine will prove them wrong. In the magazine’s December issue, she says that she feels happy and confident these days. She said that she got so much scrutiny for putting on extra pounds but she thinks that the decision not to make herself anorexic was actually great for brandling because when one is really really skinny not everybody can relate to you. According to her, everybody fluctuates but she is open about her weight and she is still confident. She said she does not cry about it too much.
The star confirmed reports that she will wait until her baby was born to tie the knot saying that she have not started shopping for their wedding yet. She said that when she got engaged, everyone thought she would get married immediately but she have not put a single dress on and by the time the baby comes out she will not be married.
