John Cusack is an American actor, who earned much prominence for the portrayal of Lloyd Dobler in the romantic comedy-drama film entitled, Say Anthing. He was born on June 28, 1966 in Evanston, Illinois, to Nancy and Dick Cusack, a former teacher and an actor. He was baptized with the real name of John Paul Cusack and was the borther of Ann, Joan and Bill as well as Susie, who were all actresses and actor like him. In addition, Cusack attended the New York University for only one year. On the other hand, Cusack earned much attention in late 1980s, appearing in the films like, Better Off Dead, The Sure Thing and One Crazy Summer as well as Sixteen Candles, where he portrayed the roles of Lane Meyer, Walter ‘Gib’ Gibson, Hoops McCann and Bryce, respectively. He was also featured in the music video of the Suicidal Tendencies called, Trip at the Brain.
In year 1989, Cusack starred in the romantic comedy-drama film of Cameron Crowe entitled, Say Anything, where he portrayed the role of Lloyd Dobler, together with Ione Skye and John Mahoney. He then appeared as Roy Dillion in the film called, The Grifters. Cusack was also included in the casts of the 1991 film of True Colors, where he portrayed the lead role of Peter Burton, together with James Spader and Imogen Stubbs. On the following year, Cusack appeared in four films, Shadows and Fog, The Prayers, Bob Roberts and Roadside Prophets, portraying the roles of Jack, himself and a Cutting Edge Host as well as Caspar. In year 1993, he portrayed the role of The Mapmaker in the film called, Map of the Human Heart. On the same year, he appeared as Joey Coyle in the comedy/crime film called, Money for Nothing, which also includes the stars of Debi Mazar and Michael Madsen. He then included in the ensemble of the 1994 films of Floundering and Bullets over Broadway as well as The Road to Wellville. In year 1996, Cusack starred in the film entitled, City Hall, where he portrayed the role of Kevin Calhoun, alongside Al Pacino.
In year 1997, he appeared as John Kelso in the film of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. In the same year, she lent his voice for the role of Dimitri in the animated film entitled, Anastasia, alongside Meg Ryan. He then portrayed the role of Craig Schwatz in the 1991 film of Being John Malkovich. In year 2000, Cusack appeared in the comedy-drama film called, High Fidelity, where he portrayed the role of Rob Gordon. Cusack was also included in the casts of the 2001 film entitled, America’s Sweetheart, where he portrayed the role of Eddie Thomas alongside Julia Roberts. On the same year, he appeared as Jonathan Trager in the film called, Serendipity.
On the following year, Cusack appeared as Nicholas Easter in the thriller-drama film called, Runaway Jury, which also starred Rachel Weisz and Dustin Hoffman. Cusack then includes the films of Must Love Dogs and The Ice Harvest, where he portrayed the role of Jake Anderson and Charlie Arglist, respectively. In year 2007, Cusack portrayed the role of David Gordon in the comedy-drama film called, Martian Child, together with Bobby Coleman and Amanda Peet. On the same year, he starred in the horror film of 1408, portraying the role of Mike Enslin, which earned him a nomination for Saturn Award for Best Actor. In year 2009, Cusack starred in the science fiction disaster film of 2012, where he portrayed the role of Jackson Curtis, alongside, Amanda Pete. On the following year, he appeared in the thriller film called, Shanghai. He also starred and co- produced the comedy film of Hot Tub Time Machine, where he portrayed the role of Adam Yates. In addition, Cusack is set to star in the upcoming film of Warner Bros. entitled, The Factory. He will also be appearing in the 2012 films of The raven and The Frozen Ground, where he will portray the roles of Edgar Allan Poe and Robert Hanesen, respectively.
