Jonathan Rhys Meyers is an Irish actor-model, who is most notable for the portrayal in the films of Velvet Goldmine and Mission: Impossible III. He was born on July 27, 1977 in Dublin, Ireland, to Mary Geraldine Meyers and Jon O’Keeffe. He was baptized with the real name of Jonathan Michael Francis O’Keeffe and was raised as a Roman Catholic by his own family. When he was at the young age of one, he was relocated to Cork, where he was raised their together his three younger brothers named Alan, Jamie and Paul, who were all born musicians. At the age of three, his parents parted ways. His mother raised Meyers while his brother Ala and his two brothers were all went on to love at the house of their grandmother, together with their father. In addition, Rhys Meyers entered the North Monastery School.

Due to absenteeism and instead of studying, he spent most of his time hanging out in pool halls. On the other hand, casting agents, who were searching for Irish boys to appear in the film called, War of the Buttons, had noticed Rhys Meyers. After he appeared on the said film, he then appeared in the 1994 film of A Man of No Importance. It was then followed by an appearance in the 1996 film of Michael Collins. In year 1999, Rhys Meyers portrayed the role of Pitt Mackeson in the civil war drama film of Ride with the Devil.
On the other hand, Rhys Meyers starred in the TV shows like the Gormenghast, where he portrayed the role of Steerpike. He was also included in the casts of the mini-series of Levis in year 2005, portraying the role of Elvis Presley, together with the star of Randy Quaid and Colonel Tom Parker. He then earned an a nomination of Emmy and also won a Golden Globe Award. Rhys Meyers also starred in the series show of The Tudors, where he portrayed the role of Henry Vill. His portrayal garnered him a nomination for the Golden Globe for the category for the Best actor in a Television Drama in year 2007.
Also, in year 2007, Rhys Meyers starred together with John Travolta in the action film entitled, From Paris with Love, where he portrayed the role of James Reese. On the following year, he starred in the 2008 film of The Children of Huang Shi, where he portrayed the role of George Hogg. In year 2008, he was given an Honourary Patronage from the Trinity College Philisophical Society in Dubliun Ireland. On the other hand, Rhys Meyers is set to appear in the upcoming 2011 film of Albert Nobbs, which also includes the stars of Glenn Close, Mia Wasikowska and Aaron Johnson.
