Kate Bosworth is an American actress, who is most notable for the portrayal of Anne Marie Chadwick in the 2002 film called, Blue Crush. She was born on January 2, 1983 in Los Angeles, California, to Patricia and Harold Bosworth, a homemaker and a previous executive for Talbots. She was baptized with the real name of Catherine Ann ‘Kate’ Bosworth and grew up in the East Coast. She was a champion equestrian at the young age of fourteen and has entered the Cohasset High, where she graduated in year 2001. On the other hand, the first film role of Bosworth came when she appeared in the 1998 film entitled, The Horse Whisperer, where she portrayed the role of Judith. In year 2000, Bosworth starred in the TV series called, Young Americans, where she portrayed the role of Bella Banks, together with Rodney Scott and Mark Famiglietti.
On the same year, Bosworth appeared in the 2000 sports film called, Remember the Titans, were she portrayed the role of Emma Hoyt, alongside Denzel Washington and Will Patton. In year 2001, Bosworth relocated to Los Angeles, hoping to find much easier way to auditions and better film roles as well. On the other hand, she had her breakthrough role in the 2002 film called, Blue Crush, where Bosworth portrayed the lead role of Anne Marie Chadwick, together with Matthew Davis and Michelle Rodriguez.
Subsequently, Bosworth appeared as Kelly in the comedy film of The Rules of Attraction, which also starred James van der Beek and Shannyn Sossamon. On the following year, she starred together with Val Kilmer in the 2003 drama film entitled, Wonderland, where she portrayed the role of Dawn Schiller. In year 2004, Bosworth portrayed the lead role of Rosalee Futch in the romantic comedy film of Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, which also includes the stars of Topher Grace and Josh Duhamel. On the same year, Bosworth portrayed the role of Sandra Dee in the biographical film of Beyond the Sea, which also starred Kevin Spacey, who portrayed the role of Bobby Darin. In year 2005, she portrayed the role of Chali in the film adaptation of the book of Myla Goldberg entitled, Bee Season, which also includes the stars of Richard Gere and Juliette Binoche. Bosworth landed on the 60th spot of the FHM’s 2005 list of 100 Sexiest Women in the World. On the same year, she took the 38th spot in Maxim’s Hot 100 List and in year 2006, she landed on number 8 spot at Maxim’s Hot List.
After competing with various actresses and has conducted various screen tests and auditions, Bosworth won the female lead role of Lois Lane, a reporter and the love interest of Clark Kent, in the superhero film of Superman Returns in year 2006, which also starred Brandon Routh as Superman and Kevin Spacey, who portrayed the role of Lex Luthor. In addition, the Superman film did well on the box office and earned mostly positive reviews. However, the portrayal of Bosworth was criticized by most of the critics and film reviewers. On the following year, she appeared as Louise in the drama film called, The Girl in the Park, together with the stars of Sigourney Weaver and Alessandro Nivola as well as Keri Russell. She was also included in the casts of the drama film called, 21, where she portrayed the role of Jill Taylor, together with the stars of Jim Sturgess and Kevin Spacey as well as Laurence Fishburne. In year 2010, Bosworth portrayed the role of Lynne in the film entitled, The Warrior’s Way, which starred Jang Dong-gun and Geoffrey Rush. She recently appeared in the 2011 film of Another Happy Day, where she portrayed the lead role of Alice Hellman. On the same year, she appeared in the thriller film of Straw Dogs. In addition, Bosworth is set to appear in the upcoming films of Big Sur and Movie 43, where she will be portraying the role of Billie and Arlene.
