Katie Cassidy is an American actress, who is most notable for the portrayal in the TV series of Melrose Place and Supernatural. She was born on November 25, 1986 in Los Angeles, to Sherry Williams and David Cassidy, who is also an actor. Cassidy was baptized with the real name of Katherine Evelyn Anita “Katie” Cassidy. She grew up in Calabasas, California, together with her mother and her stepfather, who us an ER physician. In addition, Cassidy has two older sisters named Jenna and Jamie and also has a younger brother named Beau Cassidy. When she was still a child, she took to tumbling and as a result, she eventually competing and became a cheerleader for the California Flyers, which is a competitive team. Cassidy cheered as a freshman for the Calabasas High School, where she entered and graduated with lots of awards in year 2005.
When she was still in elementary school, Cassidy showed some interest in show business and became involved in various community theatre productions at the young age of seven and when she turned to be a teenager, she eventually studied with acting coach. In year 2004, Cassidy also had some modeling, Fitch in year 2004. On the other hand, she portrayed supporting roles I the films of Walk the Talk and You are Here ad Live in year 2007. On the same year, she appeared in the remake film of the Revenge of the Nerds, together with Adam Brody and Jenna Dewan. However, the production for the said movie has been cancelled. On the following year, she portrayed the role of Amanda in the box office hit film of Taken, which also starred Liam Neeson. In addition, Cassidy also had a recurring on the TV series of the CW network entitled, Supernatural, portraying the role of Ruby.
In year 2009, Cassidy portrayed the role of Patricia Wellington in the CBS miniseries called, Harper’s Island. On the other hand, she was included in the casts of the 2009 TV series of Melrose Place, where she portrayed the lead role of Ella Simms. The said series premiered on September 2009 but after their first season, the show has been pulled out. Furthermore, Cassidy was also included in the casts of the remake of the2020 horror film of A Nightmare in Elm Street, where she portrayed the role of Kris Fowles. The film earned her a nomination for a Teen Choice Award in the Horror/Thriller Actress category. Cassidy starred together Selena Gomez and Leighton Meester in the romantic comedy film of Monte Carlo, which has been released on July 2011. Also, in year 2011, she was included in the ensemble of the ABC’s pilot project entitled, Georgetown. In July of the same year, it was reported that she signed on to appear in the upcoming film entitled, Bumped.
