Kelly Preston is an American actress and former model, who was born on October 13, 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to a mental health center administrator and an agricultural firm worker. Her father passed away when she was at the young age of three. Her mother then married to Peter Palzis, who is a personnel director. In addition, Preston was baptized with the real name of Kelly Kamalelehua Smith, she use the name of his step father after he adopted her. On the other hand, Presto has a younger maternal half-brother named Chris Palzis. While she lives in Australia, Preston entered the Pembroke School in Adelaide, South Australia. She then enrolled at the Punahou School. She then took drama and theater at the University of Southern California.
At the young age of 16, Preston was discovered by a fashion photographer, who assisted her to have a work in commercials and other small parts, which immediately turned to be a successful movie career. Moreover, her first well-known film roles occurred when she appeared in the 1985 film of Mischief and Secret Admirer. On the following year, she appeared in the American film of SpaceCamp, which initially based on the novel of Patrick Bailey and Larry B. Williams. In year 1988, she portrayed the role of Marnie Mason in the comedy film called, Twins, which also starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito. In year 1996, Preston appeared together with Tom Cruise and Cuba Gooding, Jr. as well as Renee Zellweger in the film entitled, Jerry Maguire.
Moreover, Preston starred alongside John Travolta in the 2000 science fiction film of Battlefield Earth. The film earned her the Worst Supporting Actress at the 21st Golden Raspberry Awards. In her personal life, Preston married her fellow actor Kevin Cage in year 1985 but separated in year 1989. Preston also had a romantic affair with George Clooney, who gave her a pet pig named Max. the pig kept by her after they split. She became engaged with Charlie Sheen in yea 1990 but ended after he unintentionally shot her in the arm. Preston is currently married with John Travolta and had three children.
