The 44-year-old Canadian actor, producer and director, who was born on December 21, 1966 In London, England to Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, who were both an actor and actress. Sutherland was born with the real name of Kiefer William Frederick Dempsey George Rufus Sutherland and has the Scottish ancestry form his parents. In addition, Sutherland is the grandson of the Canadian politician Tommy Douglas. He also has twin sister named Rachel, who was also in London. He and his family relocated to Corona, California. In year 1972, his parents divorced and after three years, the actor moved with her mother in Toronto.
Sutherland enrolled for his elementary years at the Crescent Town Elementary School. He also attended the schools of St. Claire Junior High East York and the John G.
