Kim Cattrall is an English actress, who earned much prominence for the portrayal of Samantha Jones in the TV series called, Sex and the City. She was born on August 21, 1958 in Mossley Hill, Liverpool, England. Her mother named Gladys Shane, is a secretary while her father, Dennis Cattrall, was a construction engineer. She was baptized with the real name of Kim Victoria Cattrall. On the other hand, when Cattrall was only three months old, she together with her family moved to Canadian City of Coutenay British Columbia and at the age of eleven, she made her return her England after her grandmother got sick. In addition, at the age of 16, prior to her return in Canada for her final year in high school, Cattrall had several acting examinations for the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). In year 1972, after she finished her high school Cattrall eventually started her professional career, leaving Canada and headed for New York City, where she entered the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She then signed a contract for the film director, Otto Preminger.
On the other hand, Cattrall made her film debut in the 1975 film called, Rosebud, where she portrayed the role of Joyce Donnovan. In year 1978, Cattrall portrayed the female lead role in the TV series called, Columbo. On the following year, Cattrall collaborated with Stan lee and Jack Kirby for the 1979 TV series of The Incredible Hulk. She then starred as Miss ‘Lassie’ Honeywell in the 1982 comedy film entitled, Porky’s, which is said to be the second higher-earning Canadian film of all time internationally, grossing the total amount of $111,289,673. She then included in the casts of the sixth feature film of Star Trek called, Star trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, where she portrayed the role of Valeris. Aside from being a film actress, Cattrall also performs and acts on stage and in theatre as well. Cattrall collaborated with Arthur Miller for the play production called, A View from the Bridge as well as in Anton Chekhov’s play, Three Sisters.
On the other hand, because of her natural talent when it comes on acting, Cattrall was included in the ensemble of the TV series of Sex and the City in year 1997, where he portrayed the role of Samantha Jones, becoming an internationally known star. She then appeared in the comedy drama film called, Crossroads, where she worked with the stars of Britney Spears, Zoe Saldana and Taryn Manning. Moreover, Cattrall reprised her role as Samantha Jones in the film version of Sex and the City, which was premiered on May 2008. In year 2005, Cattrall portrayed the role of Tina Harwood for the film called, Ice Princess, which starred Michelle Trachtenberg and Joan Cusack as well as Hayden Panettiere. On the following year, she starred together with Brendan Gleeson on the Irish film entitled, The Tiger’s Tail, where she portrayed the role of Jane O’Leary. She then teamed-up with the film director, Brian Kirk, in the 2007 TV film entitled, My Boy Jack, which includes the stars of David Haig and Daniel Radcliffe. In year 2009, for her victorious portrayal in various film and TV productions, Cattrall earned a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in Toronto. On the following year, she played the lead role in the stage production of Noel Coward’s private Lives. Also, in year 2010, she appeared as Gloria in the TV film called, Any Human Heart.
