Lauren Graham is an American actress, who is most notable for the portrayal of the role of Lorelai Gilmore on the drama series of Gilmore Girls as well as in the TV series of Parenthood. She was born on March 16, 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Donna Grant and Lawrence Graham, a fashion buyer and a candy industry lobbyist and the existing president of the National Confectioners Associations. In addition, Graham was baptized with the real name of Lauren Helen Graham and has an Irish descent and is also a Catholic. At the young age of five, her parents parted ways and she relocated to Washington D.C. on the other hand, Graham learned about acting while she was still in elementary school further sharpened her talent at the Langley High School. She then appeared in some community theaters and some other small productions.
In year 1988, Graham gained her actor’s equity card after spending two years in the summer stock at the Barn Theater in Augusta, Michigan. On the other hand, the actress graduated from the Barnard College on the same year, having a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. After relocating to Texas in year 1992 Graham had her Master of Fine Arts in Acting Performance from the Southern Methodist University. After she finished her study, Graham relocated to New York City, where she became a waitress and an aspiring actress,. In year 1995, she also moved to Hollywood, California.
Graham subsequently appeared in several TV commercials for different products like the Dimetapp and the lean Cuisine and also presented the free preview weekends on The Movie Channel. Amid of year 1996 and 1997, she became a regular guest star on various NBC shows. She also appeared in the American sitcom called 3rd Rock from the Sun. on the other hand, her break came when she portrayed the role of Lorelai Gilmore on the comedy drama American TV series of Gilmore Girls. Her portrayal on the said series earned her a nomination for the Best Actress in a Television Series (Drama) at the 2001 Golden Globe Awards. in addition, Graham also served as the producer of the show.
Moreover, she portrayed herself in the two episodes of the NBC series show of the Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. She then appeared in the Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown, which was co-presented by Dave Foley of the Newsradio. In year 2005, Graham portrayed the role of Claire Fletcher in the comedy film of the Pacifier, which stared Vin Diesel. In year 2007, she appeared together with Diane Keaton and Mandy Moore in the romantic comedy film entitled, Because I Said So. Also, in year 2007, she starred with Steve Carell and Morgan Freeman in the comedy film of Evan Almighty. In year 2009, Graham was announced as the replacement of Maura Tierney in the TV series called, Parenthood. On the following year, Graham was expected to star on the film of Scream 4/ however, it was said that he left the film on June of the same year.
