Lisa Kudrow is an American actress, who is most notable for the portrayal of Phoebi Buffay in the TV series of Friends. She was born on July 30, 1963 in Encino, Los Angeles, California, to Nedra S. and Lee N. Kudrow, a travel agent and a headache specialist and a physician. In addition, Kudrow has an older sister named Helene Marla and also has an older brother named David B. Kudrow, who is a neurologist. She was raised in a Jewish family. At the young age of 16, Kudrow had a surgery, which decreased the size of her nose. On the other hand, Kudrow entered the Portola Middle School n Tarzana, California as well as in Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. Kudrow also attended the Vassar College, where she earned her B.A. in Biology.
At the encouragement of her brother’s childhood friend, Jon Lovitz, who is a comedian, Kudrow started her professional acting career as one of the members of The Groudlings. She then joined the short-lived improve troupe called, Unexpected Company. It was said that she was the only regular cmember of the Transformers Comedy Troupe. She then had a role in one of the episodes of the NBC sitcom called, Cheers. She also had a repeating role of Kathy Fleisher in the three episodes of the season one of the sitcom of Bob Newhart entitled, Bob. In year 1989, she portrayed the role of Nicole in the NBC’s Just temporary as well as in the CBS’ Close Encounters, which was also known as the Matchmaker, portraying the role of a Valley Girl in year 1990.
On the other hand, the first recurring TV role of Kudrow was the role of Ursula Buffay in the NBC sitcom called, Mad About You. She then reprised the role in the NBC sitcom of Friend. For her portrayal on the said sitcom, Kudrow took home the 1998 Emmy Award for the category for the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, it was said that she was the first Friends cast member to earn an Emmy. In year 2000, she appeared in the American comedy-drama film of Hanging Up, where she portrayed the role of Maddy Mozell, together with Meg Ryan and Diane Keaton. In year, 2003, Kudrow was included in the casts of the comedy film called, Marci X, which also includes the stars of Damon Wayans and Andrew Keenan-Bolger.
In year 2005, Kudrow portrayed the role of Mamie Toll in the film entitled, Happy Endings, which also starred Steve Coogan and Tom Arnold as well as Maggie Gyllenhaal. In year 2008, she appeared together with Emma Roberts and Jake T. Austin in the film called, Hotel for Dogs. On the following year, Kudrow and Courteney Cox appeared in the TV sitcom of Cougar Town. In year 2010, she portrayed the role of Mrs. Griffith in the film of Easy A. she s also set to appear n the upcoming film of Ten Year, which also starred Channing Tatum and Aubrey Plaza.
