Mandy Patinkin is an American actor, who earned much prominence for the portrayal of Inigo Montoya, in the 1987 film entitled, The Princess Bride. He was born on November 30, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois, to Doris ‘Doralee’ Sinton and Lester Patinkin, a homemaker and a worker in the People’s Iron & Metal Company. He was baptized with the real name of Mandel Bruce “Mandy” Patinkin and has the combination of Russian and Polish Jewish descent. He grew up in a midlle class family and was raised in Conservatice Judaism. In addition, Patinkin entered the South Shore High School and the Kenwood Academy as well as the University of Kansas and the Julliard School, where he became classmate of Kelsey Grammer.

On the other hand, after Patinkin appeared in some TV commercials as well as radio productions. He had his initial success in the field of musical theater, where he portrayed the role of Che in the musical production called, Evita, in year 1979. As a result, Patinkin earned the Tony Award for Best Performance by a Features Actor in a Musical that year. Subsequently, Patinkin started to appear in film, portraying the role of Avigdor in the romantic musical film called, Yentl as well as in the film of Ragtime, portraying the role of Tateh. However, Patinkin still returne to Broadway in year 1984 for him to lead the musical production called, Sunday in the Park with George, which also earned him nomination for a Tony Award for the Best Actor-Musical.

Moreover, in year 1994, Patinkin portrayed the role of Dr. Jeffrey Geigner in the CBS drama series of Chicago Hope, which also garnered him an Emmy Award. In year 1999, Patinkin starred in the film called, the Adventured of Elmo in Grouchland, where he portrayed the role of Huxley. He then appeared on stage with the Broadway production of The Wild Party, which also earned him a nomination for a Tony Award for the Best Actor-Musical. He then appeared as Ruber Sofer in the comedy-drama series of Dead Like Me. In year 2005, he appeared as Jason Gideon in the drama series of CBS entitled, Criminal Minds. On the same year, he portrayed the role of Rick in the film of The Choking Man. On the following year, he lend his voiced for the character of Stanley Irving in the 2006 animated comedy film of Everyone’s Hero. Patinkin was also included in the ensemble of the 2010 thriller film entitled, 4.3.2.1, where he portrayed the role of Jago Larofsky.
