Martin Lawrence is an American actor, who is most notable for the portrayal in various films like Bad Boys, Blue Streak and Big Momma’s House as well in Bad Boys sequel. He was born on April 16, 1965 in Frankfurt am Main, Hesse am Germany. He was baptized with the real name of Martin Fitzgerald Lawrence. He is the son of Chlora and John Lawrence, who previously worked in the US Military. At the young age of eight, his parents got divorced. Lawrence lived in Maryland and entered the Thomas G. Pullen School of the Creative and Performing Arts as well as the Fairmont Heights High School. In addition, Lawrence also attended the Eleanor Roosevelt High School and the Friendly High School, where he became a Mid Atlantic Golden Gloves boxing competitor.
His professional career started when he relocated to Denver and found his way to the well known legendary Kings Wood comedy club. After his appearance in the Wood, he earned a spot in the popular TV show of Star Search. After losing the contest, the executives of the Columbia TriStar Television noticed his performance and proposed him to portray the role of Maurice on the TV series show called, What’s Happening Now!. After the show has been canceled, he earned small parts in several films and TV shows.
His break in came when he portrayed the role of Cee in the 1989 America drama comedy film of Do the Right Thing. His appearance on the film was followed by the roles in films of House Party and Boomerang, where he portrayed the role of Tyler, together with the star of Eddie Murphy, portraying the role of Marcus Graham. He was chosen to host the TV series of Def Comedy Jam on the cable network of HBO. He subsequently starred in his own series entitled, martin, which aired through 1992 up to year 1997.
In year 1999, Lawrence portrayed the role of Mile Logan in the action comedy film of Blue Streak, which also includes the stars of Luke Wilson and Peter Green. On the following year, he starred in the crime comedy film of Big Momma’s House as well in the sequel film of Bad Boys 2 in year 2003. In year 2007, Lawrence starred together with John Travolta, Tim Allen and William H. Macy in the comedy film of Wild Hogs, where he portrayed the role of Bobby Davis.
On the following year, Martin Lawrence starred together with Reven Symone in the comedy film of College Road Trip. He then voiced for one of the characters in the 2006 Open Season, which also includes the star of Ashton Kucther. In year 2009, Lawrence appeared in the BET Awards’ spoof movie trailer together with Jamie Foxx for the film called, The Skank Robbers. On the following year, it was announced that Lawrence reprised his role as Malcom Turner in the sequel of the comedy film of Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, which has been released in year 2011.
