Matthew Fox is an American actor and a former model, who is most notable for the portrayal of Charlie Salinger in the TV series entitled, Party of Five. He was born on July 14, 1966 in Crowheart, Wyoming to Loretta B and Francis G. Fox. He was baptized with the real name of Matthew Chandler Fox and he graduated in High School in Wyoming and also entered the Deerfield Academy for a Post-Graduate year. He then entered the Columbia University, where he took major in Economics and as became one of the members of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. in year 1990s, Fox appeared in various TV ads like the 3 Musketeers. One of his very first try was in a student films. at the age of 25, he had his debut in one of the episodes of the NBC TV series entitled, Wings.
On the same year, he starred on the drama series of Freshman Dor. He then pursued on portraying supporting roles, which also includes the role of Charlie in the special series entitled, If I Die Before I Wake. He subsequently made his professional film debut in the 1993 romantic film entitled, My Boyfriend’s Back. On the following year, he was included in the cats as the starring role of Charlie Salinger in the teen drama called, Party of Five, which also starred Scott Wolf, Neve Campbell and Jennifer Love Hewit as well as Lacey Chabert. In year 2002, Fox starred in the TV series called, Haunted, where he portrayed the role of Frank Taylor. From year 2004 until the year 2010, Fox portrayed the role of Dr, Jack Shephard in the TV series entitled, Lost. On the other hand, Fox originally auditioned for the role of James ‘Sawyer’ Ford but J.J. Abrams thought that it would be better if Fox will portray the role of Jack. Her portrayal on the said series earned him a nomination for a Golden Globe and also earned the 2005 Satellite Award as well as the 2006 Screen Actors Guild Award for the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
Also, in year 2006, Fox presented the Saturday Night Live, together with the musical guests, Tenacious D. on the same year, he also starred together with Matthew McConaughey in the sports drama called, We Are Marshall. Fox also portrayed a small part in the action film entitled, Smokin’ aces and also portrayed the lead role in the 2008 thriller film of Vantage Point. In year 2008, Fox also starred in the film entitled, Speed Racer, where he portrayed the role of Racer X. in year 2011, Fox also starred in the stage production entitled, In a Forest, Dark and Deep, together with Olivia Williams in London’s West End.
