Miranda Richardson is and English actress, who was born on March 3, 1958 in Southport, Lancashire, to Marian Georgina and William Alan Richardson, a housewife and a marketing executive. She was baptized with the real name of Miranda Jane Richardson and was the second daughter of a middle class family. On the other hand, Richardson entered the Bristol Old Vic Theater School, where she studied together with Daniel Day-Lewis, starting out with the juvenile performances in Cinderella and the Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime at the Southport Dramatic Club. She then made her stage debut in the production of Moving at the Queen’s Theater in year 1981.
Moreover, Richardson subsequently appeared in the repertory theater, until she received credits in the West End for a series of stage performances, eventually receiving an Oliver Award nomination for her portrayal in A lie of the Mind. In year 1996, she was considered by a critic as the greatest actress of our time in any medium after se made an appearance in the opera called, Orlando, at the Edinburgh Festival. Richardson subsequently returned to the London stage in May 2009 for the lead role in Wallace Shawn’s newest play entitled, Grasses of a Thousand Colours, held at the Royal Court Theater.
In year 1985, Richardson made her film debut, when she portrayed the role of Ruth Ellis in United Kingdom in Mike Newell’s biographical drama called, Dance with a Stranger. She was then included in the casts of Steven Spielberg directorial film entitled, Empire of the Sun, which also starred Christian Bale and John Malkovich as well as Nigel Havers. On the other hand, Richardson earned much fame when she portrayed the role of Queen Elizabeth I or also known as Queenie in the British TV comedy pf Blackadder III. she then appeared as a guest star in one episode each of the Blackadder The Third and Blackadder Goes Forth.
She then returned to portray the role from Blackadder for a Christmasspecial entitled, Clakcadder’s Christmas Carol as well in the special edition for the Blackadder: Back ad Forth. She also appeared in the TV series of The Storyteller in an episode called, The Three ravens, where she portrayed the role of a witch. In year 1997, Richardson appeared as Pamela Flitton in A Dance to the Music of Time. On the following year, she portrayed the role of Miss Gilchrist in St. Ives. In year 2001, she appeared in Hallmark’s Snow White: the Fairest of the All and in year 2003, she portrayed the role of Queen Mary in the British drama serial of The Lost Prince. On the following year, she appeared in the musical of The Phantom of the Opera, which starred Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum. She then portrayed the role of Mrs. Claus in the film of Fred Claus. Richardson recently appeared in the Harry potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, where she portrayed the role of Rita Skeeter.
