Naomi Ellen Watts who is simply known as Naomi Watts was born on September 28, 1968 in Shoreham, Kent, England to Myfanwy Edwards and Peter Watts, who is a Welsh antiques dealer and an English road manger and sound engineer. She has a brother named, Ben, who is now a photographer who is currently living in the United States. Her parents parted ways when she was on the young age of four. On the other hand, her father died when she was on her childhood days.

Watts’ career began in a Australian Television, where she appeared in some commercials as well as series show, which also includes the soap opera called, Home and Away, th4 award winning series of Brides and Christ and the family sitcom of Hey Dad. In year 1992, she appeared as one of the supporting roles in the Australian indie film entitled, Flirting. As she made her way to Hollywood, Watts landed in a supporting role of Jet Girl in the film called, Tank Girl, in year 1995.

In year 2001, she appeared in the film of the Shaft, which has been directed by Dick Maas. The said film earned poor reviews from the critics. On the same year, she starred in the well acclaimed film of David Lynch called, Mulholland Drive, which debuted at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. On the following year, she also appeared as one of the stars I the box office hit film of the U.S version of The Ring. In year 2003, she starred alongside Orlando Bloom and Heath Ledger in the film of Le Divorce.

Watts also appeared in the 2006 drama film of The Painted Vell together Edward Norton and Live Schreiber. On the same year, his voiced was feature in the psychological thriller film of Inland Empire. In year 2009, Watts starred in the thriller film of The International, together with Clive Owen, where she portrayed the role of Eleanor Whitman. She next starred in the American drama film of Mother and Child. She was also included in the casts of the film of Dream House in year 2010 and in the film of Fair Game. It was said that Watts garnered a nomination for the Satellite Award for Best Actress for her acting job in the film of Fair Game.

In her personal life, Naomi Watts turned to be a helping hand ambassador for the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS in year 2006. The said program, helped to raise consciousness when it comes to AIDS. Watts used her fame to get the attention of all the people who are living with that kind of disease.

Early this year, Naomi Watts was included in the casts in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, wherein she will be portraying the role of Edgar’s Secretary, Helen Gandy. On the other hand, it was announced in late 2010, that she will be portraying the role of Marilyn Monroe in the upcoming film of Blonde, which is set to begin filming in January 2011, unfortunately it has been delayed.
