The international hit “Torn” was launched by the Australian singer-songwriter, actress and model Natalie Jane Imbruglia. She was born on February 4, 1975 in Sydney, Australia. She was raised by Elliot Imbruglia and Masene Anderson. She was notable as Beth Brennan in the Australian soap “Neighbours”.

Natalie’s first internationally released single was “Torn” which came out in 1997. It reached the number two spot in UK Singles Chart in November 1997. The song became a worldwide hit topping the charts in the United States and other countries. The debut album of Natalie was entitled “Left of the Middle” which was released on December 8, 1997. The album sold 350,000 copies in the United Kingdom and was certified platinum eventually. The tracks included in the album were “Big Mistake”, “Wishing I was There”, and “Smoke”. The album was certified 2x platinum in November 1998.

The second album of Natalie was “White Lilies Island” in 2001. The first single released in the United Kingdom was “That Day”. While the track “Wrong impression” was released in the United States as the first single. It was also released in the United Kingdom as a second single.

The third studio album was entitled “Counting down the Days” and was released in April 2005. The first single of the album was entitled “Shiver”. It became a big hit and also turned out to be her longest running single in the United Kingdom. It reached the eight spot in the UK charts. The album Counting Down the Days became her very first album to be on the top spot in album charts. It became the 100th best-selling album in 2005 which sold 204,877 copies in the United Kingdom.

Natalie parted ways with her record label and formed her own label named Malabar Records. The songs in the upcoming album “Come to Life” were co-written with Ben Hillier, Dave McCracken, Daniel Johns, Paul Harris, and Shep Solomon. The album was released on October 12, 2009 in Europe while it debuted in the United Kingdom in May 3, 2010.

Natalie was married to the Silverchair lead singer Daniel Johns on the New Year’s Eve of 2003 in a beach ceremony in Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia. However, Imbruglia and Johns announced their divorce on January 4, 2008 because of distance as the main reason. Natalie lives mainly in the island “White Lilies” in Berkshire, United Kingdom while Johns lived in Newcastle, Australia.

Natalie also modeled for L’Oreal as well as in Sass and Bide’s The Mad Ones. The money was used for the cancer research. Natalie was listed as the 6th most naturally woman of all time in 2004. She was also included in VH1 100 Sexiest Artists, she ranked on the 90th spot. Natalie mentioned that she had never undergone any plastic surgery; however, she also stated that she is not closing her doors for this because she doesn’t know what will happen in the future.

In the year 2003, she was casted with Rowan Atkinson in the 2003 British comedy “Johnny English”. She played the supporting role Lorna Campbell. She had her second big screen appearance in the film “Closed for Winter”.

Natalie was currently the judge on the Australian version of the “The X Factor”. She was with Guy Sebastian, Ronan Keating and Kylie Sandilands.
