Natalie Portman who was baptized as Natalie Hershlag was born on June 9, 1981. The 30 year old actress was the only daughter of Shelley Stevans who is an American homemaker and Avner Hershlag who is a fertility specialist and gynecologist. Natalie Portman was an American and Israeli citizenship. Natalie as well as her parents was first lived in Washington D.C but they moved to Connecticut in year 1988 and after two years, their family stayed on Long Island in New York.

Portman’s first role was in the 1994 French action film called, Leon, but her success came in when she became part of the Star Wars film trilogy wherein she portrayed the role of Padmé Amidala. While she is still working as an actress in year 1999, she entered the School of Harvard University for her to study psychology and in year 2003, she finished her Bachelor’s degree.

In year 2005, Natalie Portman earned a nomination for the category of Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting actress. In May 2008, Portman was said to be the youngest member of the 61sy Annual Cannes Film festival judge. In year 2011, Natalie Portman has been honored for the Academy Award of Golden Glove Award as well as Screen Actors Guild Award and the BAFT Award for her key role as Nina in the most controversial film of Black Swan.

Natalie Portman has also been present in Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Washington. Aside from the English Language, Portman also learned how to speak in Hebrew and also entered a Jewish elementary school as well as the Solomon Schechter Day School of Glen Cove in New York. In year 1999 she graduated from the Syosset High School in Syosset Long Island. She missed the premiere night of her film Star Wars just to study for her final exams.

At the very young age of four years old, Natalie Portman has entered dancing lessons and even performed in local troupes. When Natalie Portman was on the age of ten, a Revlon agent invites her to be a child model but he declined the said offer and stick on acting.

Natalie Portman has already starred in several films. In year 2011 she starred in such films like, Black Swan as well as No Strings Attached which has been released on January 21, 2011 and the box office hit film adaptation of Thor.

Portman was a huge supporter for the Animal Rights and she has been a veterinarian since she was in her childhood days. She turned a vegan in year 2009 after she have read the book of Jonathan Safran Foer which is called, Eating Animals.

Natalie Portman met the Ballet dancer Benjamin MIllepied on the set of her Black Swan film in late 2009. Millepied was served to be their film choreographer. The couple began dating on December 2009 and after a year it was announced that the couple was already engaged. June 2011, Portman gave birth to their first son.
