Nathan Fillion is a Canadian actor, who was born on March 27, 1971 in Edmonton, Alberta, to Cookie and Bob Fillion, who were both former English Teachers. Fillion, who has an older brother, entered the Holy Trinity Catholic High School, and the Concordia University College of Alberta. He also attended the University of Alberta, where he became one of the members of the Kappa Alpha Society. After he worked for various several theater and television as well as film productions, which includes the Theatresports and Rapid Fire as well as the improvised soap opera Die- Nasty, Fillion relocated to New York in year 1994, where he as included in the casts of the soap opera called, One Life to Live, where he portrayed the role of Joey Buchanan, for which he earned a nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award for the category of Outstanding Younger Actor in year 1997.
On the other hand, Fillion left the series show to move on to the other projects awaits him. After he moved to Los Angeles, he portrayed a supporting role in the sitcom called, Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place, and was subsequently included in the casts of Steven Spielberg directorial film called, Saving Private Ryan, which also includes the star of Tom Hanks. FIllion also had a recurring character in the final season of the TV series called, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In year 2002, he portrayed the role of Malcolm Reynolds in the science fiction TV series of Firefly, where he earned a Cinescape Genre Face of the Future for Male Award by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror films. Also, Fillion won the Syfy Genre Awards for Best Actor/Television in year 2006 and as runner-up for the Best Actor/Movie. On the other hand, Fillion reprised his role as Mall in the film of Serenity in year 2005.
In year 2001, Fillion voiced for one of the characters of the animated series of king of the Hill in year 2001 as well as the voice of Gao the Lesser in the video game called, Jade Empire. He also voiced for the role of Vigilante in the animated series of Justice League in year 2005 and 2006. On the other hand, FIllion was included in the casts of the 2006 horror film of Slither, where he portrayed the role of Bill Pardy, in addition, his portrayal on the said role earned him a 2006 Fangoria Chainsaw Awards nomination for the category of Dude You Don’t Wanna Mess With. He then starred in the romantic comedy film of Waitress. In year 2009, Fillion portrayed the title role of Richard Castle in the ABC TV Series of Castle. On the following year, it was reported that the series has been renewed for its third season. In year 2011, Fillion voiced for the role of Hal Jordan in the film Green Lantern: Emerald Knights. He also portrayed the role of the Holy Avenger in the dark comedy film called, Super.
