Olivia Thirlby is an American actress, who is most notable for the portrayal of Leah in the 2007 film of Juno, was born on October 6, 1996 in New York City. Her mother is an advertising executive and her mother is a contractor. Thirlby was raised in Manhattan’s East Village and attended the Friends Seminary in the city’s Gramercy neighborhood, where she graduated in a class of 57 students. Also, Thirlby entered the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts in upstate New York. She also enrolled at the American Globe Theater and at the Royal Academy of dramatic Art in London, where she took a stage combat course with the British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat (BASSC).

While Thirlby was still in high school, she was offered a role in the 2007 film called, The Secret. In year 2006, she made her film debut with the 2006 film entitled, United 93. However, her TV debut happened when she was included in the casts of the TV series of Kidnapped. In year 2007, Thirlby portrayed the role of Leah in the comedy-drama film called, Juno, which also includes the stars of Ellen Page and Diablo Cody. The film is a box office hit, grossing a total amount of $231,411,584. She then portrayed the role of Stephanie in the 2008 film of The Wackness, together with the stars of Josh Peck and Ben Kingsley. She was also included in the casts of the comedy film called, Pineapple Express, together with the star of Seth Rogen. However, she was replaced by the star of Amber Heard.

On the other hand, Thirlby made her stage debut in the play production of Farragut North. The off Broadway production ran from October until November 2008. On the following year, Thirlby appeared in one of the series of the cable network of HBO called, Bored to Death. she also voices the promotional video excerpts from the book called, Thirteen Reasons Why, by Jay Asher, which was posted on YouTube. On the other hand, Thirlby is se to appear in the upcoming American drama film entitled, Margaret, which has been written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan. The film which is set to release on September 30, 2011, also includes the stars of Anna Paquin, who will be portraying the role of Cohen and J. Smith Cameron as well as Matt Demon, who is set to portray the role of Aaron Caije. Thirlby is also set to star in Christmas in New York. on the other hand, Thirlby starred in The No Game, the Manners of Madness and Parts. She will also be portraying the lead role of Max in the upcoming drama comedy of The Other Side. Thirlby also starred together with Karl Urban in the film adaptation of Judge Dredd, which is currently in production.
