Patrick Wilson is an American actor and singer, was born on July 3, 1973 in Norfolk, Virginia, to Mary K. Wilson and Jon Wilson, a voice teacher and a professional singer and an anchor. Wilson has a brother named Mark, who works as an anchor and reporter. Wilson tied the knot with the Polish-American actress Dagmara Dominiczyk, who is also a Carnegie Mellon graduate. The couple had two sons, KAlin Patrick and Kassian McCarrel.
In year 2003, Wilson received critical acclaim for his portrayal in the HBO drama mini-series that has been directed by Mike Nichols entitled, Angel in America. He then earned both Golden Globe nomination and an Emmy nomination for the category of Best Supporting Actor. In the said drama series, Wilson portrayed the role of Joe Pitt, who is a sexually confused lawyer. He was subsequently included in the casts of the 2004 film called, The Alamo. He also starred in the musical film of The Phantom of the Opera, where he portrayed the role of Raoul Vicomte de Chagny together with the stars of Gerald Butler and Emmy Rossum.
On the other hand, Wilson starred together with Kate Winslet in the drama film of Little Children, which was directed by Todd Field. He portrayed the role of Brad Adamson on the said film. On the same year, he appeared on the film of Running with Scissors, which earned a Golden Globe nomination, in the film, he portrayed the role of Michael Shepard. The film is initially based on the best-selling memoir of Augusten Burroughs. In year 2008, he portrayed the role of Chris Mattson on the directorial film of Neil LaBute entitled, Lakeview Terrace, which also includes the stars of Samuel Jackson, Kelly Washington and Jay Hernandez.
On the following year, he portrayed the role Dan Dreiberg / Nite Owl II in the Zack Snyder directorial film of Watchmen, which is the film adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name. His role on the said film, gained him 25 pounds after he filmed for the flashback scenes as the character of Nite Owl II. The film includes his Little Children co-star Jackie Earle Haley. On the other he portrayed one of the lead roles in the 2010 action film of The A-Team, which also includes the stars of Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Quinton Jackson and Sharito Copley as well as Jessica Biel. Wilson then starred together with Rose Byrne in the horror film of James Wan entitled, Insidious. Wilson recently portrayed the role of Joe in the thriller film of Matthew Chapman entitled, The Ledge, which starred Charlie Hunnam and Terrence Howard as well as Liv Tytler. On the other hand, he is set to appear in the upcoming film of Young Adult, which has been directed by Jason Reitman, portraying the role of Buddy Slade.
