Paul Giamatti is an American actor, who is most notable for the portrayal in the films of Private Parts and The Truman Show as well as in the film of Saving Private Ryan. He was born on June 6, 1967, New Haven, Connecticut, to Toni Marilyn and Angelo Bartlett Giamatti, a homemaker and a Yale University professor. Giamatti has a brother named Marcus, who is also an actor like him. He is also has a sister named Elena, who is a jewelry designer. Giamatti entered the Foote School and graduated from the Choate Rosemary Hall in year 1985.he also entered the Yale University, where he was voted as the Skull and Bones secret society. In year 1989, Giamatti graduated from Yale University, having a Bachelor’s degree in English. He subsequently performed in several theatrical productions before he appeared in some of small TV as well as film roles in year 1990s.

In year 1997, Giamatti earned his first high-profile role in the adaptation of Howard Stern’s Private Parts, which starred Howard Stern and Robin Quivers. He then portrayed several supporting roles in high budgeted films like in the 1998 films of The Truman Show and the Negotiator as well as in the war film of Saving Private Ryan, where he starred together with Tom Hanks and Tom Sizemore. On the following year, he portrayed the role of Bob Zmuda in the biopic film of Man on the Moon. He was then included in the casts of the film of Big Momma’s House in year 2000, which also includes the star of Martin Lawrence. He also appeared in the 2001 fictional film of Planet of the Apes.

On the following year, he starred together with Frankie Muniz and Amanda Bynes in the teen comedy film of Big Fat Liar, where he portrayed the role of Marty Wolf. Giamatti subsequently portrayed the lead role in tear 2003 film called, American Splendor. On the following year, he was included in the casts of the romantic comedy film of Sideways. In the film, he portrayed the lead role of Miles Raymond. The film earned him a Golden Globe nomination and an independent Spirit Award. He then appeared in the drama film of Cinderella Man, which also earned him an Academy Award nomination for the Best Supporting Actor as well as a nomination for a Golden Globe and he won the Screen Guild Award for Best Supporting Actor- Motion Picture.

In year 2006, he also starred in the fantasy film of Lady in the Water. In year 2008, Giamatti earned his first Emmy Award for the Outstanding Lead Actor in a miniseries or a Movie, for his portrayal in the HBO miniseries of John Adams. In year 2011, he won his second Golden Globe Award for his performance in the Canadian film entitled, Barney’s Versionm where he portrayed the role of Barney Panofsky. The folm also starred Dustin Hoffman and Rosamund Pike.
