Peter Stormare is a Swedish actor, who earned much attention when he portrayed the role of John Abruzzi in Prison Break. He was born on August 27, 1953 in Kumla Narke, Sweden, and grew up in Arba, Halsingland. His real name was Rolf Peter Ingvar Storm but he eventually changed his last name when he learned that he shared the same name with a senior student at the acting academy. On the other hand, his mname Stormare was said to be a Swedish word, which means Stormer. Moreover, Stormare started his professional career with the Swedish Royal Dramatic Theater. In year 1990, he had a leading spot at the Tokyo Globe Theater and made himself a renowned actor by simply appearing in several Shakespeare productions, which also includes Hamlet. After three years, he relocated to New York City primarily had part in English language productions.
In year 1996, Stormare appeared in Fargo, where the international audiences were recognized him. He then portrayed the role of Solomon Eddie in Minority Report. He also appeared n the 1997 film entitled, The Last World: Jurassic Park. In year 1998, Stormare also appeared in The Grogger, which is said to be a Seinfeld episode where he portrayed a role of a rogue electrician, which is also known as the Slippery Pete. He also portrayed the role of Uli Kunkel in the film of The Big Lebowski in year 1998. On the same year, he portrayed the role of Lev Andropov in the Russian cosmonaut film of Armageddon. He then appeared as Alexei in the film of Bad Boys II in year 2003. On the same year, he portrayed the role of Ernst Rohm in the film of Hitler: The Rise of Evil.
On the other hand, Stormare appeared in the 2006 film of Constantine, where he portrayed the role of Lucifer as well as the2005 film of The Brothers Grimm. Nevertheless, his first major role in TV was in the show called, Prison Break in year 2005, where he portrayed the role of John Abruzzi. He then portrayed the lead role in the film of Svartvattnet, which was initially filmed in Sweden and in Norway in year 2007. On the same year, he appeared in one of the episodes of the crime drama series of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation entitled, Ending Happy. He also appeared in Command & Conquer: red Alert 3 as Dr. Zelinsky. In year 2010, he portrayed the role of Walter in the independent crime thriller of Small Town Murder Songs. In addition, he was featured in the music video of the song called, Uprising. On the other hand, Stormare appeared in the 2011 Swedish horror film entitled, Marianne, where he portrayed the role of a psychiatrist.
