Rebecca Hall is an English actress, who earned much prominence when she appeared in the films of The Prestige and in Vicky Christina Barcelona. She was born on May 19, 1982 in London, to Peter Hall and Maria Ewing, an English director and an opera singer. When she was still young, her mother and father separated and officially divorced in year 1990. She was baptized with the real name of Rebecca Hall and has a half-brother named Edward Hall, s theater director, and four another half-brothers, which includes the writer Lucy Hall and Christopher Hall as well as Jennifer Caron Hall, a painter and a writer. Her brother-in-law, Glenn Wilhide, a screenwriter, who co-produced the film called, The Camomile Lawn, where she starred at the young age of nine. In addition, Hall entered the Roedean School as well as the Cambridge University, where she took English Literature for two years before leaving in year 2002. When she was still in Cambridge, when she appeared in various play productions and set up theatre Company.

In year 1992, Hall had her first professional role, where she portrayed young Sophy in the adaptation of Mary Wesley’s The Camomile Lawn. In year 2006, her first feature film occurred, portraying the role of Rebecca Epstein in the film adaptation of Starter for Ten. On the other hand, Hall had her break when she portrayed the role of Sarah Borden in the film called, The Prestige, which also includes the stars of Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale as well as Michael Caine and Scarlett Johansson. She subsequently appeared in the BBC drama called, Joe’s Palace in year 2007 as well as in the TV films of Wide Sargasso Sea and Rubberheart. On the other hand, she Hall collaborated with Woody Allen in the film entitled, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, where she portrayed the titled role of Vicky. The film garnered her a nomination for Golden Globe for the Best Actress in a Motion Picture- Musical or Comedy. Also in year 2008, she appeared in the drama film called, Frost/Nixon.

On the following year, she was included in the casts together with Ben Barnes in the film entitled, Dorian Gray, which has been released on September 9, 2009. In year 2010, she starred together with Catherine Keener in the dark comedy film of Please Give.  On the same year, she starred with Ben Affleck and Jon Hamm as well as Blake Lively in the crime film entitled, The Town. She then portrayed the lead role in the British ghost film of The Awakening.
