Rhys Ifans is a Welsh actor and musician, who is most notable for the portrayal of Spike in the 1999 British romantic comedy film of Notting Hill and in the film of Enduring Love. Ifans was born on July 22, 1967 in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales, to Beti Wyn and Eirwyn Evans, a nursery school teacher and a primary school teacher. His first language was Welsh and he grew up ion Ruthin, North Wales, and earned his primary education at the Ysgol Pentrecelyn, where his mother was employed before she entered the Ysgol Maes garmn, which is a Welsh language secondary school located in Mold, Flintshire. Also, Ifans entered the Youth acting schools at the Theater Clwyd. He also trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

In year 1990, Ifans has presented the Sdwnsh, an anarchic children’s quiz programme. He subsequently appeared in many Welsh languages TV shows before boarding on his film career and performing at the Royal National Theater, London ad well as the Royal Exchange Theater, Manchester. Ifans has also become the lead vocalist of the rock band called, Super furry Animals. On the other hand, after portraying the role of Jeremy Lewis in the film of Twin Town in year 1997, he earned an international exposure in role as Spike in the British film of Notting Hill, which starred Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. On the following year, he portrayed the role of Adrian in the 2000 dark comedy film of Little Nicky,

Also I year 2000, Ifans appeared in the films of Kevin and Perry Go Large as well as in the film of The Replacements, where he portrayed the role of Nigel Gruff. On the following year, Ifans was included in the casts of the British action comedy film called, The 51st State, where he portrayed the role of Iki. Moreover, in year 2004, he portrayed the role of William Dobbin in the film entitled, Vanity Fair, which also includes the stasr of Reese Witherspoon and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. He was also featured in the 2007 horror film of Hannibal Rising, where he portrayed the role of Vladis Grutas. In year 2005, Ifans took home a BAFTA award for his portrayal in the TV film of Not Only But Always. He then made an appearance for the band of Oasis in their music video of The Importance of Being Idle.

In year 2006, Ifans made his return to the London stage in Michel Grandage’s production called, Don Juan in Soho. On the following year he earned an Honorary Fellowship from the Bangor University in North Wales. On March 2009, he announced that he will be appearing in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 1, portraying the role of Xenophillius Lovegood. He also added that her will be portraying the title role of in the in Mr. Nice. On the following year, he stated that he would also portray the villain role in the next Spider-Man film.
